I was preparing for the LA interview tomorrow :scared:, and decided I wanted to eat a pomegranate. Now it looks like I sacrificed a small hamster on my white macbook.:smack:

Oh that and apparently I did not read my secondary carefully enough, because I found atleast 5 errors, and I also reused these secondaries for other schools...:bang:

And I love these smilies. :poke: slap: Teehee😀

lol I'm not a newbie, I just go long periods without checking SDN - in "binges" you could say. 🙂

hahahahahaha - I just cracked up reading that in the library. With my headphones in.... no telling how loud I actually laughed....

I noticed I left a word out of an essay after submitting it to several of my state schools. I keep blaming that on why I haven't got interview invites there yet but who knows. Either way I'm :smack:, because I would LOVE LOVE LOVE some IS love.😎

I saw a guy in the library 2 days ago that came off a bit more akward than either laughing out loud or sacrificing a hamster on your macbook. He had some sort of "tick" where he had rock back and forth pretty heavily (about a 1.5-2ft stroke) while he read, and then he'd get the most excited giggle/laugh I've ever seen. It was classic... must have been a good book because this went on for at least 10 minutes :laugh:.

Hahaha my best friend from college (Rachel) and I were studying in the library once. She had gotten herself some tea and had put it behind her laptop to cool while she wrote her paper (I was sitting next to her). Rachel is a very very quiet, super-polite girl, very very conscious of library policies, she never curses, etc. So imagine my surprise when she suddenly gets up and screams "OH *****!!!! My computer is on ****ing fire!!!*. Turns out she'd seen the smoke coming out of the tea cup (which was hidden behind the computer screen) and thought it was coming from her computer.

Endless laughter ensued. It was pretty disruptive 😀

Well my best friend *might* be moving back to your neck of the woods to finish up his masters, so I may be in town regardless of the interview status. I'll keep you posted. 🙂

it feels like a dream, honestly. I feel so lucky (and pretty unworthing) of an acceptance in the bag this early in the game!!!!

I'm definitely going to UMC (hence the screen name change 😉) The opportunities are just amazing there for me in peds, and the cost is DEFINITELY an added bonus.

Plus, I waitlisted at Tulane. But it's okay because I've wanted UMC from the beginning 🙂

Hey everyone,

I'm going crazy like everyone else applying this cycle. I interviewed at Georgetown mid-September. I've been so anxious lately knowing that I will find out soon that I gave into my pesky ways and called the admissions office today to ask if any decision letters had been mailed. I was told some HAD been mailed, but depending on the type of decision (I don't know if she might have slipped up in telling me this, but it drove me even more crazy!).

Then she asked for my AMCAS ID and put me on hold, then came back and informed me that my decision letter was mailed out today. I tried asking her what type of decisions were the ones mailed, but she knew what I was alluding to (ok, so I'm not that slick!!!)

Do you guys think this means something bad? I'm thinking its probably either a flat out rejection or (hopefully) an acceptance. Maybe it could be a waitlist...but if they came up with a decision so quickly, maybe not.

If any of you have any knowledge or experience that will shed some light on which possible decision it could be, one way or another, please help!

I need to share the excitement since SDN has turned me into a neurotic, somewhat pessimistic desperate pre-med.

I got in on 10/15 and am still in disbelief 🙂 This early in the process...what's there left to do now? It's my dream school and I'm in.

Someone pinch me.

And congratulations to the rest of you that have had the good fortune to get an early acceptance-- if we're on this site, we probably all have a good amount invested in becoming doctors.

Just needed to get all that out 🙂

Aww, don't worry. That's only a month ago you were complete. Some places I didn't hear from for 2 months or so. Some places I'm still waiting to hear from, and I was complete early Aug.
 
*sigh* another rejection to add to my pile (from RFU). 12 schools left! i hope i hear from uic soon...
