Yeah, well freezing for me is 45 degrees. But my apartment's heater doesn't work...so it's also 45 in my room.

For like 2 days!!! And there was one day in between where it was nice again. I'll take 363 days of blue skies and warm air every single time! I really dont think i would have been able to survive in Chicago or Iowa, or anywhere else besides california.

That's true. I still think it's crazy how different the weather is between the Peninsula and the East bay (San Fran is even weirder). We had a couple of rainy days but since then it's been dry and cold and beautiful out.
 
just got out of my final.. done for the semester.. really bummed about the sinai waitlist.. got the email today... 🙁 🙁 🙁

The weekend high in Salt Lake this week is going to be 14, low of 4. Want some of that? I'd be glad to ship it to you! Ha. I went skiing Tuesday and nearly died on the lift because it was so cold!!!!!
 
Looks like I'm gonna be stranded in the Boston area due to the snow...after dorms close. I'm screwed 🙁

Oh nothing much. I've got finals this week so I've been busting my butt so I can pass. Mrs. serikk and I are planning on getting out of town for a few days, so I'm looking forward to the break (which starts tomorrow at 12:30 PM). I definately need a few days off after this crazy process. What about you?

Your finals are a little late, aren't they? I've been very lazy since my finals ended, so I decided to come to lab for the next week or so. No big plans for the holidays, but it doesn't matter. I like having a break from everything 🙂

I was in barnes and noble today and saw a USMLE kaplan q bank book..... 😱 we have a lot to look forward too!
 
yes indeed. I've been looking at some step materials (in passing) and it is quite interesting...

I have a friend who has an online bookstore and she pulled all her shelf/board materials and gave them to me for an early christmas present. and I have BRS for biochem and embryo.

I'm so ready to get started!
 
congrats yall! im joining you guys in this co 2013 group as well. not sure where im goin yet, wont decide til march, but ive been waiting years! to be able to join this thread. its funny, ive actually been pretty secretive about this whole process. ive told my parents and friends about my first acceptance only, and not tellin people where ive been offered interviews at either (besides my first one). i just tell my roomies im goin on vacation whenever i interview. lol. just dont want everyone sticking their noses in my business and trying to influence my choices. good luck on the rest of the cycle yall, especially if you are still waiting for your top choices. i know i am.

Well, I've been gone for a while. I got really busy here, but I did get get a job! I'm now gainfully employed in my new city so I won't starve/get evicted. Yay!

thanks alot man, as for you..please. your as good as gold in my book..your gonna have to make some great choices between some great schools (ahem..my top choices..ahem), thats for sure.

Yup. Pretty stoked! This means I won't have to go through all my savings before med school starts. Now I'll have some disposable income to make my apartment a little more comfortable. 😎

Anyone have any suggestions for that BTW?

Leaving tomorrow for a family (me+my parents) trip to Vegas + rock formations in Nevada/Utah.

I figure this will be one of the last chances I get to spend quality time with my parents, so if they want to see rock formations, I'm all for it!

Planning on swinging by LA on the way back to go to universal studios with some college friends.

Whoo! Winter break! 🙂
 
vacation just started.. but im all tense from thinking about potentially hearing from NYU next week. also i dont like weekends lol. i spent them with parents so its a lot of chilling at home, doing nothing, and being on the computer stuff... although i end up bathing like 2-3 times a day for the hell of it . lol

Back from NYC. It snowed 🙂 Yay! I probably looked like an idiot gawking at the snow on my interview day 😛.

I think I'm finally done interviewing!!!!!!

Anyone else thinking about FAFSA matters? My dad's concerned about estimating values we don't know (for tax purposes).

Heh, *I* think they were ok...but who knows whether that means admission or not? 🙂 I'll get back to you about that on March 1st, I guess 😛 (Is that the date for both Cornell and Columbia?). At any rate, nothing obviously horrible happened at either, I guess...

I'm just glad I had the opportunity to visit two amazing (and very different) schools.

I got to see two old college friends and I got to meet up with my sister. Seeing NYC in snow reminded me of Home Alone 2 which I watched with my sister last night. I'd forgotten how hilarious that movie could be.

I was trying to think of other movies I wanted to see over break and all I could come up with was When Harry Met Sally.

Haha, everytime I see Home Alone on tv now (which is a lot during the holidays) I just keep remembering that Macauly is dating Jackie from That 70's show (and also Forgetting Sarah Marshall) 😍 ...such a lucky guy!!

FAFSA has been brooding on my mind as well. Will probably look around in fin aid or start a thread about some of my loan questions....like do Ugrad loans get deferred during med school? and do we send out the FAFSA to every school you applied to?
