CRB and RySerr, what do your Screen names mean? I know Berk's is her initials: Jane Gretel Berken,😛 but what about you guys? I have been kind of curious...

Also, it is surprising that only the West Coasts kids are on SDN right now...

Its 315 am on the east coast. i'd be surprised of any of them were on SDN. And to answer your question, its a sliced up version of my name (exons and introns if you will 😀). Ry coming from first name, Serr coming from my last. If you remember what my avatar was before i had the haka (the one it is now), you coud figure out my last name. And you can probably take a good guess at my first. Oh and 21 is my fav number/my number for all the sports I play.

I'm afraid my sn meaning is quite boring. They are my initials, my middle name is Rocky...don't know what my parents were thinking :laugh:
7/17 is my bday. Unfortunately, I didn't really think about a good sn before I joined. I might've gone with something a little more creative 😎

Do you just like monkeys? 🙂

ps. Left coast is the best coast!! haha jk, I'm a poser, I don't really have any coast pride. Yeah things tend to settle down after a certain hour as everyone starts calling it a night on the east coast.

haha, no i'm not that creative. I am simple minded like you 🙂. Its short and sweet, and i used it for everything, haha. Its my AIM screen name too and my username for a number of other things.

Interesting... And by the way, I think that odd names are the best... I have been told that I have the oddest name of anyone, considering that I have met only one other person with my first name, and EVERYONE with my last name is related to me...

For my screenname... my screenname was supposed to be different, but I first joined SDN to ask whether transferring schools was a good idea, and I was really paranoid about the fact that someone from my previous school would find out, since I used my screenname for everything else... so I chose something that had to do with monkeys, and doctors, and decided on this, all while I was in the school's computer lab... yah, I like monkeys... they are awesome...:zip:

The lights in my lab are on some motion sensor/timer thing so if nothing moves for a while, they shut off.

The lights just turned off while I'm sitting here at my computer. I had to get up and walk in a circle to get them back on. Sigh.

Lol, half of the PIs in my department are on vacation. There was almost zero traffic on the expressway this morning, that's how few people are going to work this week :laugh:

btw, i LOVE SOUTH PARK! and I think im going to change my name too! lol nto sure how yet.
btw, some of those cat pictures were priceless esp in the post with the 3 pics starting with the baby eating the black kitty..
i have such a great plan for next year.. if only NYU lets me in.. I want to get a 1bedroom with my bf in the NYU area.. get a kitty... 🙂

congrats! I woke up today and for some reason thought about an interview invite (even though its been forever since I received one) waiting in my inbox. Turned out it was you instead! I'm still in awe of how beautiful that place was. Can't imagine what it looks like now with all the snow. Hopefully its blue skies!!

I'm watching the price is right, right now. I love that show. I went with about 26 guys from the football team freshman year. We had a blast, one of our guys got called up and ended up winning a sailboat. It was pretty fun.

Schools great, I'm enjoying every second of it. It's a lot easier to stay motivated when you're doing something you love. SF is starting to come around too. It's kinda difficult being in a brand new city without a previously established support group, but I'm managing.

Break is going well. Just sleeping 24/7 and watching Scrubs re-runs. It's amazing how much more sense these doctor shows make once you've experienced a little bit of it. I've begun to realize how clueless I really was.

Thanks man! Glad to hear you are enjoying san fran (its always better when the niners start winning :laugh:) Its like 99% for UCI. Only schools i would even still interview at if given opportunity are UCSD, USC, and UCLA. USC is probably out based on cost alone, and i'm not countin on LA (still haventn received secondary) or SD (post secondary hold). I'm pretty stoked about UCI tho, and am anxious to start next august!

Well, since Baylor's med school is separate from the undergrad, I guess I don't really have a mascot either 🙂

Though I suppose there's a possibility we might wind up as the Baylor-Rice Owls...
