Class of 2013!!!

sometimes i feel a little guilty for having the best weather all the time, but i just figured out something to kind of even the score a bit: we always have school, no such thing as snow days out here!

i don't think it's even ... in my three and a bit years here in chicago we have had 0 snow days. i guess our school doesn't believe in canceling class :laugh: which kind of blows. but yeah, we trek through the piles of snow and the blizzard and the frosty winds to class in winter
 
man, those hurricances look hella scary on tv...i think i'd take an earthquake over a hurricane anyday...

Dont they have to make up the snowdays at the end of the year?
 
lol seeing tv reporters get swept off their feet and people use jet skis to leave their homes is enough for me...

We don't even get snow days though. They just expect us to get to school anyway. I can't remember the last time (if ever) I had a snow day.
 
I like living an hour or more off the water a lot more than living ON the coast. The downfall to this is that I've moved far enough north now for tornadoes.

It never ends.

yea, it would be pretty sweet if we could get a warning for eathquakes. that would cut down the scariness by a bit.

TV reporters are so stupid for standing out there in it. You can always tell who's news and who's visitors based upon the level of stupidity.

The locals are inside or evacuated, for the most part..
 
the biggest ones happened when i was a kid, northridge sticks out in my mind the most. the worst thing i hated about it was it was in the middle of the night. it really sucks to wake up to an earthquake, haha. but yea, northridge was bad, it caused freeway overpasses to collapse, and a heckuva a lot of other signficant damages to houses.

lately, we've had a couple quakes within the past several months, but not much damage, just enough to knock things off the shelves.
 
lol. i guess you just get used to what you grew up with.

Not for college, but for HS there is a limit on how many days they can miss before they start making them up during the summer. Where I went to HS we had three snow days a school year that we didn't need to make up.

Basically everyone is really happy for the first three snow days and then they get angry about each one after those.

Did anybody see the Howie Do It premiere the other night? The hidden camera show with Howie Mendel? Forget the fact that he is an irritating person in general, but there was one clip where they were auditioning weather man for a weather chanell?? Its one of the only ones i was actually laughing at... You can just fast forward to 40 seconds b/c its all just BS advertising the show before they show the clip

Youtube is blocked here at work, but that show just seemed stupid to me when I saw the commercials.

Agreed. But the clip i am referring to is directly relevant to our convo on weather and was one of the only ones that actually made me laugh (and the producers probably knew that which is why its on the preview)! You should watch it when you get home.
 
so i just called they picked up made me hold. then they came back asked for my AMCAS ID. then they put me on hold. and after a substantial wait they came back and said

funky and I have successfully taken over the TOP of the first few pages of the class of 2014 thread....its up to all of us to keep it going so they know who is in charge. :meanie:
