Aw, that's great. It felt so weird when I went up to the med school last month and had "graduated" from admissions to student affairs. It's like a whole new team of people to ask questions to! Thankfully, my student affairs admin. assistant is just as nice as admissions, so all is well. 👍

Yeah I did. I have always wanted to go to Howard. That has been my #1 forever. If I could I would have only applied to Howard. That's how much I want to go there. When I did apply, I spoke to her and she was telling me that I needed to re-take the mcat, which I did and improved by 6 pts. She also told me I needed to do a postbacc, which I did and did well. I finished with a 3.5. She has seen all of my growth from the first time I applied in 2006. I love that place and I am praying with every bit of mite of have that I will get in!

That's wassup. I know that has to be a great feeling. I can't wait to move past this part and get to where you guys are at. That is why I love being in here cuz yall give me hope and are so encouraging and great to me! I hope after we start med school that we can still communicate in some fashion.

I am. God is soo good to me. Cuz none of this would be happening without Him! Because of where I have come from, I am just thankful to have had a couple of interviews. To me that was awesome. Now to be waiting to hear that I get to accomplish my dream, WOW!!!

Lyss, you're great! I still think you are a chump for choosing Cornell(not really, just saying that cuz I am jealous of Cornell and your futur classmates cuz they get to have you!)!

And yes I am a chump lol. Don't worry I'm jealous of all of your future classmates already! maybe I'll get some Howard gear and try to sneak in. No one will notice the random Puerto Rican attending all of your classes haha
 
None of our C/O 13 regulars will be going with me 🙁

Sad.

Thankfully I do have a few SDN friends that will be attending... and one girl I know of that i went to high school with.

lol I was ready to send in the deposit to Howard until I saw NON-REFUNDABLE haha. Do you know what I can do with $300? That's half of my future rent! :laugh:

Nevermind, I just checked out:

It does say: "Each school's acceptance deposit not exceed $100 and be refundable until May 15 (except for EDP applicants). If the applicant enrolls at the school, the school is encouraged to credit the deposit toward tuition." but I guess everything there is technically just a recommendation? 😕

they have the typical $100 non-refundable but then they also want a $300 non-refundable good faith deposit 🙁

i'm not into dinner too much, i just don't like eating late. but then again, dinner warrants dessert. 🙂

Maaaaaaan. I got the email from my research advisor saying fluorimetry won't work, so I decided to skip lab today and sleep in. I wake up to a blizzard and it's like noon.

I am still tired, though.

No snow here yet, but it's cold as hell outside. 22 degrees, wind chill makes it 8 (shivers)
