Class of 2013!!!

I'm getting 24 hr contacts before med school. I'll take em out when I can, but that way if I have late study nights the contacts won't be glued to my eyeballs like they are now..
 
what do you guys think? 3 lit classes, over 90 pages to read. I have classes tomorrow and didn't read over the weekend (chinese and korean new year).

Should I actually read? Or should I do what I have always done in my previous science courses? I'm gonna have to read in med school, but I really really don't feel like doing undergrad stuff anymore

Not really... It is not really all that different for me... my sister on the other hand told me that she never knew that things could be so clear after she got her glasses.... she thought that everything in the world was slightly blurred...

but I think my vision is going south... last time I checked my vision was about 2.5 years ago...

left: - 8.50

but then i got lasik on August 31, 2007... and it pretty much changed my life.

for better or worse?

I have narrow and extremely sensitive eyes so I can't wear soft contact lenses. I tried RGP's for a few weeks but it's just too uncomfortable (it feels like I had a sandpaper in my eye) so I went back to glasses the day before my UW-Madison interview. It felt SO ****ING GOOD with glasses that I never wore contacts again. I'm just gonna get surgery in a couple of years

man, been there sooooooooooooooooo many times....

like, probably years of my life has been spent blinking and trying to get 'comfortable' enough to continue studying after 18-20 hours...

(where 'comfortable' really just means only annoying/painful enough to just barely slip below the i-want-to-poke-my-own-eyes-out-with-my-highlighter threshhold)

if there were lasik gods, i'd sacrifice my first born in thanksgiving of what it's done for me.
 
just finished working out. only a minor asthma spell and my ankle held out - think I had it wrapped tight enough haha. I feel good! missed running. looking forward to getting back full speed.

No. I have always been 195-205, except in 2006-2007 when I was exercising and I was 180. I was 205 when you saw me in Wisconsin, and I am now 200 again. I am going to start exercising probably this Friday.

I use daily contacts and they are amazing! No muss, no fuss.

I have horrible vision. I think I'm at -8.5 in both eyes. I've been wearing glasses since first grade & as soon as a doctor is willing to let me I'm going to get LASIK. My vision is so bad they stopped making my contacts that high so I actually wear a lower prescription because I didn't want to wear hard contacts. 🙁

Trust me, you don't want to. After a couple of hours in the morning it gets comfy. Then while walking, a random spec of dust gets in your eye and it burns and you literally can't open that eye for like 2 minutes and tears flow down as your eye, in a reflex, tries to wash out the dust with tears. This would happen a couple of times each day.
 
Yes, the weekly type are what my eye doc was recommending, I think. I'm going in may to get them. We talked about it last year and she had a couple ideas, so we'll see. I've just got to have something a little better than these... after 12-16 hours in a row they are useless.

My vision is also pretty bad, but I only wear glasses (I have this phobia of putting things in my eyes).

that's what i thought before i has lasik... i was like "my contacts are just great, why would anyone want to stick that laser think and micro knife in their eye?!?! that's just crazy!!"


...but then i had it done.

i can't even tell you.

it's like one of those garbagge kids that lives in and has never left a landfill... perfectly content with his shiney broken bottle of glass as toys and filthy rags, because it never occurred to him that a place like disney world could exist.

but let me tell you, once you realize magic kingdom exists, you're ashamed to have stoodby those little lenses so long.

yessss I can't wait. My eye doctor won't let me until he's 100% positive that my vision has stopped changing 🙁
