I got accepted in November, but I still can't believe it! Pretty excited.
it's an amazing feeling. I wasn't going to apply this cycle because my MCAT score blowed... but I'm so happy my friends convinced me to go for it.

Guys...I have a question (proceeding an explanation).

So, things have gone quite well for me this application process. I have truly been blessed to have had so much success, without having to write update letters to schools. However, I have recently been placed in a couple of "final pool's" for a few diff schools (read "waitlist") and so I was contemplating writing a LOI/update letter to the schools. The problem is that I am no longer in school, and therefore I don't have any grades to update.

I do work as a research coordinator (full time), I TA a histology class, and I still volunteer.

Should I still write an update letter b/c nothing has changed since I began the cycle. I don't want to lie and write a LOI to both schools if I would really prefer one over the other.

What should I do? (sorry if this is a dumb question)

I don't think it's a dumb question at all. I'm in a similar situation (ie not in school and no noteworthy updates). Why don't you write a letter of interest explaining why you feel you would be a great fit for each school, connecting your interests and experiences to their mission & goals. You don't have to explicitly say you would go there if accepted. Just tell them why they would be missing out if they passed on you!

I agree with this. Just tell them you have been working on your research blah blah..and loved there school...

Congratulations! When did you interview? They told us 6 weeks and I'm coming up on 7 (interviewed 12/11). Hopefully they don't make me wait too long.

Nvmd, I just checked the Stony Brook thread. So it should be (hopefully) less than 2 weeks then (if I got accepted).

yes sir. I interviewed 12/1. It was my LAST interview, the big shabang.

Vadd0, that picture is hilarious. Rock out those shades, man!!!

I took a snow (ice?) day from work today! Yay!

I think ballet would be fun... I'm looking for an adult gymnastics class when I move to med school. I know some bigger cities have them (adult "beginner" classes) and it's been a while since I've been in the gym.. but I love it and I'd really like to pick it back up.

It's a great stress reliever.

Embarassing fact about me... when I was little I used to be involved in competitive gymnastics and when I was in 6th grade I joined the middle school gymnastics team. But because it was nearly all females they only did the female events (vault, floor, uneven bars, and balance beams) so I could only do vault and floor. Then I hit a growth spurt and got too tall for it.

Hello all!

EDIT: Central Park view from the observation deck at TOP of the Rock in the GE Building at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

Yah, I am running out of ideas...😳

Woohoo!!!! Congrats!

embarrassing fact about me, i pissed the bed till 6th grade, haha.

Really? :roflcopter: My cousin had that problem too. He went on to become the captain of the football team at William & Mary.

i think this happens a lot more than people would like to admit
probably...i developed slow altogether. I couldnt read till like 3rd grade, in fact in second grade they put me in the ****** class. Then two years later i was in the gifted class, go figure.

Lol, good job Matt. I used to collect baseball cards, but I stopped because I never got any good ones.

OH man...i have thousands upon thousands of baseball cards.
I used all of my allowance to buy those 50 cent packages with the gum inside. All for the hopes that one day when I hit 50, I'd be a millionaire cuz each of my cards would be worth well over $5,000 each.
