no way, i opposed the idea when it was first suggested. 👎 I dont think the threads will be as active now that they've been moved.

I also think every single one of those should be re-titled so they say 2008-2009 X medical school application thread.

While they began as secondary prompts, they became the general discussion thread for applying to that school. I don't want newcomers to be confused about the content of the thread, or wonder how ppl could've spent 15 pages discussing a school's secondary app, haha.
 
Physics Lecture today (we were reviewing for tonight's midterm)

Prof: Any questions on what I've said so far?

Student: Yeah...so since we can't have graphing calculators, and I don't have a plain scientific one, can I just use my cell phone?

Rest of the class: a few condescending LOL's, mostly amused stares.

Prof: You're aware I know what text-messaging is right?

The dude was being totally serious. And it's not like this is our first test where we've had to bring a scientific calculator...its our 3rd term of physics!

Later on, he asked if he could bring a notecard to write down formulas from the previous two terms. (we're already provided with a formula sheet for this term's equations) 😕

haha, thats why i guessed that you would have wanted them all nice and neat in their only little forum, b/c i rememer you also wanting them all nice and organized with the same title. my apologies for the false accusations :luck:
 
It's kind of weird for them to be considered "class threads," though. 60% of the people posting in them won't be in the eventual classes and the threads for those are in Allo...

I was SO confused. I thought I'd entered Allo instead of pre-Allo.

And it's more like 90% for some schools 😛
 
I noticed the interview invitation threads got moved as well.... aren't these still acceptable main-page material?

Just checking, if I wouldn't have been snooping I never wouldve looked for those there and wouldve thought they were gone.
 
I'm just wondering when we're getting moved, seeing as we have "class of" in our name and everything.:laugh:

What'll be left? Most of the posts in pre-allo are either nonsense that gets shuffled off to all-students or directed into another sub-forum or school thread. Does that leave us with all the AMCAS question/"if I have moderate bacne will adcoms..."/"I got a D- in basket weaving" threads?

Myuuchan, don't look now but the class of 2014 is already trying to fill our shoes. Plus I figure there will always be plenty of neurotic pre-meds freaking out about this or that...

oh yeah... there's PLENTY to fill up the forum.

Plus, it won't be long and next cycle's kids are gonna open their Interfolio accounts and start gathering letters.... then here comes AMCAS...

I secretly like it better like this. It seemed so cluttered before & now it is much easier to find the schools that I need to see.

Haha, I've used a cell phone once 😉 In my defense, I didn't know we'd need a calculator and I'm not sure anyone else was either. I don't remember what other people did, though.

LOL, I think you're ok though. If no one thought they would need one for the test then its the professors fault. This guy was trying to use his cell for cal-based physics. 😱
 
don't feel bad.. I talked about my mayor running over an old man on a walker outside city hall earlier this afternoon(during the jury duty discussion) and nobody batted an eye.

I always was paranoid about my suit. Carried 2 full ones to each interview... and I didn't have to fly, but I would've carried-on one and stowed one probably.

I was coming back from 2 in Chi-town. I have one Monday @ VCU.

SUCKS.


I was supposed to leave Chi-town at 7. The plane was delayed 1 hour. First sign of the devil.

We were 3rd in line to land after circling for an hour @ Philly. They closed the airport. We were short on fuel. Off to BWI. Second Sign.

My dad, seeing this change online drives to BWI to pick me up. Great dude. However, there is not enough staff to get us to the gate. They won't let me off the plane. My dad is there. I am 40 minutes from home. But I am required to.... yes go BACK to the Philadelphia airport. (They changed plans like 3 times what they were going to do with us). Third sign.

Around 3 AM I get to Philly, rebook a 9:30 AM flight from Philly to Reagan. No problem. However, the airline can't decide on which gate they will board the plane from. Conflicting info all over. Fourth sign.

I board on time. Yay. We get in line for de-icing.... We are 15th in line. Fifth Sign.

Five hours later, we have been waiting so long, we have to refuel. We haven't flown but we have to REFUEL. WTFBBQ (I was getting kind loopy). Sixth Sign.

Since my flights were on two airlines my bag is lost in the system and I do not know when I will get it. Seventh sign. OMGWTFAPOCOLYPSE.

I haven't had real sleep since Monday night. It's now Wednesday. I have a headache.

That's my story. It took me 20 hours to get home from Chicago. 14 of them from Philly to Chicago.
 
However, at CMS, my older interviewer brought up the show the Big Bang Theory, so that was kind of awesome.

sorry about that! That really stinks. You better stay on that airline's butt & call everyday so you can get your suit back in time.

Yeah, this was a class on vitamins and we hadn't had any calculations to do prior to the test. (Even then the calculations were pretty simple).
 
In regards to the new subforum, the staff is still working out all of the details. Let me know if you have suggestions.
