What do you guys think?

I like it. I also like Seiko a lot. Seiko and Timex.

Didn't I meet you at Baylor?

Sort of...I saw you, but I don't remember if you saw me 😛. I didn't actually catch your name at the time. I just remember seeing a girl who was very excited about surgery and thinking to myself "that can't be shemarty! But maybe it is, she has the same interview date!"

And then it was you 🙂 But I didn't remember your name from when you introduced yourself.

Remember I heard you talking to the MS4 who was responsible for all 50-something of us?

Haha, yeah 🙂 Why'd you initially assume that it couldn't be me?

I guess cause there were 50 people there and because I figure probably a lot of people are excited about surgery. You know? I just figured it wasn't TOO likely it was you.

All I had to go on was that you were probably Asian, probably female, (based on your avatar) and definitely excited about surgery =)...probably more than one person in our interview room fit that description...😕😕

I didn't post my interview date in the thread, though. I was/am kind of paranoid about ADCOMs, you know 😉.

I figure we haven't said anything that the adcoms would look down on, so I didn't make any attempt to remain anonymous. I hope that doesn't backfire!

Yeah, I guess you never know. I've expressed a lot of enthusiasm about certain schools to which I've been accepted. I mean, I'm definitely considering all of the schools to which I've been accepted, but I wouldn't want an adcom to think that my enthusiasm for one school or another, means I'm definitely not considering School X.

You know?

True. I was clearly excited when I got into UCSF, but I'm by no means set on going there. I'm still considering the other places that I've gotten into so far, and I'm also eagerly awaiting all my non rolling decisions in March.

I hope the schools know that if I weren't still very interested in attending, I would have withdrawn by now.

I did have one person (med student interviewer) leave me a message on my MDApps advising me that I should stay more anonymous. It's kind of too late now though.

I fell asleep on the plane back from Richmond so I have to study for my midterm right now...🙁

But MCV rocks! Everything is so nice and new...🙂

Oh and apparently I got rejected from WashU... oh well...

How many more interviews are you gonna go on before you call it a year? You must be exhausted...

#15... this one was my last one. I withdrew from the rest because I am out of monkey.

I hate cold fronts! It is currently 0 °F outside, and I still do not have any gloves or a scarf!

You are missin out! I don't know what I would do without gloves and scarf. It's how I get through winter.

However, at CMS, my older interviewer brought up the show the Big Bang Theory, so that was kind of awesome.

god, i love that show.. and how i met your mother which I think is friends but for our generation. lol

No advice on the forums, but does anyone have any good advice on how to make an omelet (instead of a burnt, scrambled mush of eggs?)
what does one add to an omelet apart from eggs and whatever you want mixed in? my mom says you need milk too?😕

yes, pianola. buy eggbeaters (its just the whites). They are SO much healthier and pourable and make PERFECT omelets 🙂
same question as above? lol

I wish! I'm a pretty terrible cook (but a decent baker).
I love baking... sweets are a terrible weakeness of mine as well, but the past few weeks I have discovered that I am an ok cook and even sometimes pretty good

I know. If you ever wanna take a vacation day from working out/being healthy I have an unbeatable recipe for spanish fried chicken. It will change your life.
is it easy to make??

I have such a sweet tooth!
😍
👍
I'm a sugar fiend all the way. I recently cut my sugar intake by about half (I had no idea how much i was eating - it was crazy) and I feel like a junkie! I have these cravings for sweet stuff & anytime I see a brownie or sugar cookie I start itching 😱

itching? ok... maybe im not that bad although when I was studying for the mcat my diet was cakes and salads.

seriously... ESPECIALLY when its 0F outside!😱

It's 20 here.... BRRR....

17F, here. I really, really like my hat, scarf, and gloves.

I was watching Trauma: Life in the ER the other day (all about Cleveland's MetroHealth!) and one of the residents was saying "[blahblahblahblah] when it's -25 in February." My cold alarm went off.🙁

15 degrees up in NYC, wind chill at -1. Bundle up everyone!

morning everyone! has anyone else got midterms today? good luck 🙂

You should look into getting a Fossil watch. My boyfriend just got a super nice watch from there that was $125.

I wish I had an interview...🙁

HIMYM is legen...wait for it...dary!

A friend of mine taught me that a good one to make omelets is to heat the oil up first before you put the egg whites/yolks into the pan. That way, the eggs start cooking almost immediately rather than congealing into the oil as they heat up together. It definitely helped my omelet-making ability 👍

aznboy you should ALWAYS heat up oil first before you cook everything or else the food just absorbs the cold oil and makes the food oily.
for the best omelette, you should heat the oil, crack the egg directly into the pan, stir, add milk and creamcheese stir, after the egg is setting on the bottom, add desired ingredients, fold in half, cook, then flip

Morning blues! No midterms for me but good luck if you've got them! :luck:

thanks, i have 5! 😱

Good luck on your midterms...

milk adds creaminess to the omlette but you don't want to add too much that the omelette's consistency will be runny. i would say one large egg needs one dash (whenever i cook i don't measure stuff, i just kinda look and gauge it but i would guess around 1/2 tablespoon). instead of creamcheese people usually add cream also to make it light and fluffly. but i always add cheese to my omelettes and cream cheese works better with that. if anyone else wants any good cooking tips or dish ask me. i love food, and i love to cook  and i love to talk about it haha

Good luck on your midterms...
thanks funky!

This is the only thing I don't agree with. Mine are usually egg white-only and I use about 3-4 eggs per omelet, so cracking them directly would mean doing them one after the other and they wouldn't end up cooking evenly.

Never thought about using milk/cream cheese though, I'll have to try that one day. 👍

Morning & :luck:!

Thanks, I'm going to need it! Senioritis has been in full swing for a few weeks now... I'm only making it through my notes for like the third time overall, which is way less than I wanted since this is going to be the "easy" test and I really wanted to do well on this one... oh well!

I feel ya. I'm not even a senior anymore and I've got senioritis.
