Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What was so bad about their terms of service? Were you trying to upload some questionable content:meanie:
It was basically everything you ever post, they own. And they are going to be changing it to everything you ever post, they will own even after you 'delete' your account. So, I made the jump now.

Besides, we will be looking at LinkedIn as our new avenue of social networking with our MDs!

EDIT:: OMG MY FIRST TOP!!!

Muffin top!!:

OMG that is truly disturbing.

I keep my inflammatory comments because they are stupid, and as a result funny... my latest one came from someone from Savannah, GA who told me that they were an adcom at a school that I was waitlisted at... Umm... Savannah does not have a med school... Sheesh the amount of = nutjobs there are on the internet never fails to amaze me...
I wonder if adcoms actually look at this stuff. The dean at Buffalo said that the adcom looked at SDN as much as we did, but it really seems impractical for some schools to look through SDN. Nonetheless, I took it down so that schools would not stumble upon my app.

agreed.. i got my first really mean comment on my mdapps in the past couple of days.. 🙁

Yeah, I got my first one this cycle too. It was a nice racist one accusing me of a) an ethnicity of which I am not and b) a woman of ill-repute. Couldn't spell, either.

Standards, people. I have STANDARDS.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

hahah. they all must just be jealous. jeez lol

i am really enjoying browsing apartments, but i wish i could go see them!!!

Is it just me or is the "anyone with no acceptances" thread madness being enabled by an ego-tripping med student?

I got a few racist post even though I did not indicate URM or my ethnicity. May be they expect their comments to have some ill effect on our psyches. They don't in my case. In fact, I find these comments are funny because I know 99% of the people making these comments would not have the courage to say something like this if we were face to face or on a less anonymous forum.

edit: back to work after checking out the "anyone with no acceptances thread"

agreed.. its just annoying sometimes and if youre in a particularly wrong mood, it can bring you down thinking that here you are, after years and years of work and some angry premed decides to just be a complete jerk to you for no reason and say your accomplishments are nothing and you are an immature person altogether

Anyone seen Coraline? If so, is it any good?

Anyone seen Coraline? If so, is it any good?

I wanna watch it... I read a review on it, and it said that the animation (stop motion) filming was good, the ending was great, but the middle was too dry and it would not interest children... but I am not a child, so I think it would be okay...

It's not just you... he's being a pretty big dick to those people. He's definitely not helping the situation 🙁, I try to be encouraging... Guess he's just trying to validate himself 🙄

Just checking! I know I'm not helping by calling him out on it, but geez.😳

Those 2014er's neuroticism is increasing exponentially.

Good thing we're going to be (re)learning microbio and anatomy instead of fretting about interviews and acceptances

I am already thinking about residency :O

kidding or not, but I am thinking about STEP 1 and doing my residency in NYC haha and hoping that mr. ar gets a postdoc position in NYC since i will have started residency before he gets out of grad school if i dont take extra years for stuff

I really wanna go someplace different for my residency... I am done with California at this moment...I am just not sure where though...

Oh yeah, duh... Mayo... I better start studying for Step 1 if I wanna match into Mayo's general surgery residency...

haha yeah dude.. you want Mayo, you better kill step 1.

also, i was browsing the step 1 thread and when people report something like 251/99 for a score, is the 2nd number a percentile?

Whew glad I'm not thinking about any of that. Just sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying my last semester of college  and having FUN. Why worry about anything THAT far in advance now - not much you can do about it now! I'll be having a blast this summer too as a swim coach (yet again!) - going to be good times until mid-August! Only thing I need to even consider is where to live... I'll figure something out though.

👍 Agree with that - it's always cool to think about life a few years down the road. I just don't worry about it now 🙄. Things will fall into place as they do, the journey is the fun part 😀

So true!👍

We're all going to be badass doctors!😎

Scary, but religious beliefs/following are personal choices. I hope this doesn't disintegrate into a rant v. religious people as it did in another thread...
yeah i just happened tos tumble upon this while checking this thread on sdn live lol..
just sharing an interesting article.no intention of starting anything 🙂

Interesting...

and don't worry, the 2013ers are sane and respectful, even if a debate started, it would not go nuts like the other thread...🙂

Yep, I have to get a new one. Asked for money from my grandparents for Easter, so hopefully I can order it in april or may. My med school asks for some specific things mine doesn't have, plus mine is about 3 years old so ya know.

I just got my mac last year in april, so I do not need one... and UTSW is mac compatible (thank god!) so I am set hopefully...
