Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Rejected from Baylor

You wouldn't want 2' of water in your living room anyways right? My friend webcast the last hurricane with her webcam until the power went out... lol

I vote for lower qualification standards or an impending flip in earth's magnetic field.🙁

I went to NY (La Guardia) like a day after that plane crashed into the Hudson... and then it was a snowstorm when we took off. I was ...

Actually, I haven't lived in Houston during a single hurricane. When I visit, it is always sunny and happy.

I wouldn't mind sun and happiness right now instead of snow 🙁

My friend is a M2 (MSTP) at BCM. She likes it but apparently their workload is pretty heavy compared to other schools.

Is it actually Japanese or almost-Japanese?

I'm kinda picky.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

It seemed pretty authentic (I lived in CA before I came here for school) and they had nice fresh fish that wasn't very expensive. I got a plate of yellowtail, mackerel, and salmon for $20, and my cousin had a nice chirashi for less.

Sounds good to me!😀

genetics is so interesting.

This statement is totally and completely 100% true.

Chad is close enough to come... Who else can come to DC?

Yeah, I can try to come - I'll be under contract in a show so as long as it doesn't conflict I'll try to be there.

Rejected from Baylor

Sorry to hear that... but I think JHU>Baylor anyway!

I am a native Houstonian.

Sorry to hear that too... 😉 (I lived in Houston for 2 years and hated it).

It suddenly occurs to me that I will be at work. Motion to postpone until 5/16?

I think I have shows that day. Let me check our performance schedule...

Yep:

Friday 5/15/2009 @ 7:00 pm
Saturday 5/16/2009 @ 10:00 am, 3:00 pm
Sunday 5/17/2009 @ 2:00 pm

Of course, you could always drive down and see the show and we could meet up afterwards. 😀

Did you know: If your heart is exposed to 300 mA, you will need to have your heart stopped in order for it to regain normal function.

Remind me not to electrocute myself running these gels...

Ooooh, that'd be awesome. I'll have to see what everyone wants to do.👍

There are some discounted tickets ($20, regular price is $40) for the 3:00 pm Saturday performance just in case you're interested.

I just hope you like curly-, red-haired orphans wearing red dresses.

You are playing Annie😱

Yeah, I also got that impression. Vadd, you got Hopkins, there's no need for tears. 😀

And my presentation is taking a lot longer than I thought since I keep reading more and more articles since it is so darn interesting...

I really want to become an organ transplant surgeon...🙂

No real interest in a lot of surgery specialties, but organ transplant is 👍. Pediatric organ transplant is something I've actually thought about... just in brief.

Lunch was good. Garlic shrimp 🙂

I had garlic chicken with onions and potatoes

Lot of garlic going around, it seems. Delicious, but stinky

I almost became an organ transplant coordinator once. I had interviewed for the job and been offered the position, but I decided to take a research assistant job instead because I thought it was more stable. For organ transplant, they were saying you're basically always on call because as soon as an organ becomes available, you have to set the wheels in motion and coordinate the activity between sites, etc. Probably would have been more interesting, in retrospect.

i am eagerly and anxiously waiting for my NYU financial aid letter...but i get the feeling I may have to push past the 200K club and go straight for 300K
table for 2?

That sounds like a really fun job... I wonder how UTSW is with organ transplantation😀

Yay, whenever I think of med school and UTSW this 😀 (the giant grin) creeps across my face😀

There are a lot of insanely tall people on SDN... I need some heels

Ha ha? of course not. I am in the ensemble but I might get a few bit parts.

Still no word on the last callback. I?m supposed to hear by early next week.
good luck insanely tall Chad

I agree... the more I read it, the more I realize that it is the perfect place🙂

But California would not be a bad place to stay...

So I have a question for you guys... would it be wrong of me to send two letters of intent? I am only asking here and not SDN so I do not get flamed...
There are definitely people who renege on letters of intent. Schools know that and know it's not a binding contract--there's no way they can get back at you. If you're asking if it's moral/ethical, I have no idea. I guess you'd be writing something that you knew was false.
