Japanese ppl have weird diets, lately the craze there apparently has been this banana diet... apparently so many women started it that they depleted the banana supply for the whole country... lol

Where is the Orange County one? And also which Westwood one are to talking about? I like Tomodachi, and my friend said Ami was okay...

Kitayama (it's on the edge of the 73 south on bristol) is my fav sushi restaurant in LA. The owner also owns his own fishery so their sushi is the freshest! It's better than Nobu etc... For pure japanese food though, shiro in south pasadena is the best though.

I was referring to Tomodachi... there was another one I ate at in westwood that was good too but not as good as Tomodachi. Half of my family went to UCLA (which is one reason I decided not to go there for med, although i kinda regret it now, lol, stupid cold weather)

Nice. I am actually 5'11.75, but I always just say 6' because it's so much easier to say and it's a round number.

Eating less calories per meal and lots of meals = no hunger 👍

I worked abroad so have pretty good language skills. My cantonese is pretty bad though, my ex is from HK so I picked some up from here but I wouldn't use it in conversation, just to eavesdrop on people who think I can't understand them 😀

This is pretty much what I do. I pick up bits and pieces of Mandarin and Cantonese, so I can tell if people are making fun of me, but that's about it :laugh:

yeah, my japanese sucks. Luckily I was able to get by with a combination of languages in japan (mostly english, but others too haha)

the most amusing language situation I was in was in a small city in rural hungary... no one there knew how to speak english or any of the languages I knew, but some random dude there knew tagolog (wtf?) which I know a few words in...

That is pretty random!😱 If I ever go to France, I totally plan on pretending to be a half-Japanese tourist to avoid the use of English.:ninja:

Well it's so close to "the day" that it's been on my mind 24/7 lately. Yup, I'm thinking decisions will be sent Friday. That's what happened last year - they were sent on the last business day in February (which just happened to be a Friday).
 
also, regarding yale, knowing what I know now about med school, I am really intrigued about what student life would be like for a yale student... lol

No, Columbia's decisions are snail mail only (and they won't tell you over email or phone no matter how much you beg!)

Rejections and waitlists are typically sent out on the same day as acceptance packets. Acceptances come in large white envelopes sent via priority mail and typically arrive within 1-4 business days depending on how close you are to NYC. Rejections and waitlists come in regular-sized envelopes and are sent via first class mail, so they usually arrive 2-5 buesiness days after being sent.

Thanks, Chad. You're a really good guy. I'm gonna be super-happy if you get Columbia regardless of whether I do or not. You deserve it SO much.

I'm kind of excited about March. Not only will some financial aid packages start trickling in, but I'll be entertained watching the non-rolling decisions start. Don't get me wrong, I have my own anxieties about both of these things, but for the most part, my app cycle is over, I'm not expecting to get in anywhere else so I'm just going to be this guy: :corny:

very possible, but i was just thinking about more the day to day stuff. Also kinda wondering about the knowledge for knowledge's sake aspect of all that.

😍 You guys are the best! :biglove: I have something special planned in the case I do get an acceptance packet in the next week. I'm just hoping I don't get rejected right off the bat. I'll be disappointed with a waitlist but at least there's still some glimmer of hope!

LET, I'm pretty excited about watching the upcoming non-rolling action too! After I hear from Columbia my cycle will be over as well.
 
EDIT: TOP! By accident!

I really hope I don't get rejections from both Columbia and Cornell over the course of a couple of weeks. That would stink beyond stinking...
