I slept early last night because my sleeping habits have been completely screwy for the past few weeks...

And apparently I slept for 10 hours😀

Oh and blues, I have to play catchup as well. When are you officially done with finals and classes and the like?

I'm glad that I'm finding out from Columbia right before Spring Break, so that if I need to sit in bed all day and mope, I can do so.

Yeah, Chad's kinda projecting Thursday/Friday/Saturday-ish of this week. Decisions are being sent out Tuesday.

I hate how the application cycle tends to end with rejection. Like all the schools you haven't heard from will turn into rejections. Maybe Columbia will be different.

And maybe I will get off UCF's hold list. *sigh*

Haha I'm not telling you to be grateful! Pssh I don't blame you for wanting a school that's a better fit. But just in case you don't get accepted (which they'd be crazy for doing!), just remember that you have so many other great schools to choose from. Just don't stress over this decision. :xf:

And they don't taste good...But that's the great thing about Berkeley (or any other college city). We have a coffee shop on every block, so you can choose which one you like best. I'm going to walk to this one that's 30 mins away because they make the best Americanos (and white chocolate mochas 😍).

morning everyone! after several attempts to wake up, with lots of thunder and lighting. I finally stayed up. think the weather's over... now to come up with a plan for the day.

actually they do... and they're very useful for energy and giving you lots of energy at the club etc... it's just when you're trying to wind down that they suck. I think figuring out when to switch to beer is key when it comes to that!

Hmm...interesting I'll keep that in mind if I ever end up at a club again.

I 😍 Mr. Nola (my s.o.), but he doesn't drink at ALL and he doesn't go to clubs. And I'm not particularly fond of either activity, per se. But I don't like the feeling that I couldn't go with him to one because he'd be miserable.

*shrug* oh well.
 
The best thing about being Indian... fresh warm chapatis....😀

For anyone who does not know, Chapatis are Indian whole wheat flat breads, rolled thin and cooked on a griddle...

Well...he's not morally opposed to ever having a drink. It's just that he doesn't see a point in doing it. He's tried drinks in the past and he says that he thinks they taste bad and give him a headache. And he's right -- they're expensive, and money might be better spent in other ways. He isn't particularly fond of other people when they're drunk and he doesn't particularly want to get drunk himself.

He certainly has some airtight arguments, but I guess I just don't particularly want to cut myself off from having a drink once every couple of months...

Haha, we just had a big discussion in our integrated case immediately after exams about the culture of drinking in our state (ironically the case was about drunk driving) and basically it is really an ingrained part of the culture here. Our state's largest employer is Miller haha. That said, I think there are few things better than enjoying a cold beer on a warm sunny day by the lake. I'm also really into wine, and love having it with food. Of course moderation is important in all things 😀

interestingly enough, we just talked about this a few days ago, it's not the alcohol dehydrogenase that's important, it's the aldehyde dehydrogenase because acetaldehyde is what makes you feel crappy (sorry for the biochem this early in the morning)

Back when I was in CA, this Samoan guy I knew apparently had super high levels of both alcohol and aldehyde dehydrogenase and could basically drink non-stop without getting intoxicated 😱
