Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
HA! It didn't!!😱

Instead, it gave me a list of songs I actually like:

Garbage - Queer
Poe - Hello
The Breeders - Cannonball
Fiona Apple - Shadowboxer
Blur - Girls and Boys (ok, I don't know this one)
No Doubt - New
Marilyn Manson - The Dope Show
Nine Inch Nails (Meat Beat Manifesto) (...sorry, what?)
Orgy - Blue Monday
Garbage - Push It
PotUSA - Lump
Chris Cornell - Can't Change Me
Sarah McLachlan - Possession
Poe - Angry Johnny
Soundgarden - The Day I Tried to Live
Fiona Apple - Sleep to Dream
No Doubt - Ex-Girlfriend
Nine Inch Nails - We're In the Together
White Town - Your Woman
Garbage - Only Happy When it Rains
Gravity Kills - Guilty
Echo & The Bunnymen - The Killing Moon
Poe - Hey Pretty
PotUSA - Kitty
Oleander - Why I'm Here

...ok, on second thought, it gave me a top 40 of the late 90s. I just can't win.

I don't think Poe and PotUSA were top 40. I don't remember ever hearing them on the radio...

To, like, you know, the top?

Gangsta's Paradise, easily 😀

Well, what I meant by listenable is "listenable while in traffic or in the workplace," where I mean "won't put me to sleep or scare anyone away."

Not considered for "listenable" designations: requiems, the mars volta.

Ooh, yeah I should think about making a work-appropriate playlist. Anytime someone comes into the office, I hastily pause my iPod in case 2Pac or Biggie are currently playing

Someone happened to come in when a (horrible) live rendition of the opening theme for Neon Genesis Evangelion came up. Thus, the listenable playlist was born!

I thought you were pretty set on Cornell?
I was but I keep second guessing myself! :smack: (my indecisiveness strikes again). I'm trying to thoroughly research all of my options & I want to make sure that I love Cornell because I am putting myself in the best position to succeed & do well... not because it is pretty & I know some of the deans, ya kno? Does that make sense?

Sure it does. Right up until the second and third guessing!

I think you're going to be putting yourself in the best position to succeed with Cornell, of the schools I remember from your list. The curriculum gives you a good portion of free time but also makes sure that students are on top of things because of the PBL. The culture is somewhat competitive, but that's what you're going to expect when you take a high quality class, but you definitely don't need AOA or to honors that many classes to have success in the match so you don't need to be neurotic about that.

I think what I'm freaking out about is the Step exams. I'm not a fabulous test taker. My MCAT sucked hard & I know they don't teach to the exams at all. I keep having these visions of me failing out. I'm no stranger to hard work (I pulled my GPA up from a 2.7 my 1st year to a 3.7) but i wanna make sure I have support if I struggle. ah I'm just being neurotic. I just need to close my eyes and take the plunge!

They have the resources to keep you out of that hole and to pull you out, should it ever come to that.

Live the dream!

...and it doesn't help that I can't really afford to revisit Pitt or NYU... but then again that will just complicate my decision further because I will really like them. I loved almost every school I visited. AHHH!

Ok got to go to work and be neurotic there. later peoples. have a great day!

Most schools don't teach to the steps... but the pass rate at Cornell is ~100% every year, so I wouldn't really worry about it. The boards aren't difficult to pass, and the year my brother graduated from Cornell they had four of the highest step 1 scores in the country. The steps aren't like the MCAT, they're more knowledge based. Study hard in med school and you'll be fine.
