Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Govt spending has a tendency to improve things...for the first two years..before they have to figure out how to pay for that ****, and all goes to hell.

hey guys, i just realized that I missed over a weeks worth of stuff and im wondering if bd2b had heard anything from howard? .....

OK, HUGE WTF moment when I checked the thread title...Do I still know you guys?

BACCHUS WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE THREAD!?!?!? Ahhhhh!

/freak out

Speaking of sandpeople

Hehehe. Nice.

New and better look😉

But...we need more exclamation marks 🙁.

Also, Chubby, I've decided that UCF needs to accept us in the next few days. I mean, the odds aren't particularly good for either of us, but I've just decided that that's what they need to do. 😛

we do not need more exclamation marks...2014 only has a million in order to make up for their shortcomings and inferiority...let them feel good about themselves for something

UCF-yes, yes they do...I hear back wed:xf::scared:

Also, I'm meeting Mr. Nola's mother on Saturday and I'm kinda nervous. He really loves his mother and he doesn't get to see her very much (she lives in Thailand and is a Thai citizen and only gets to visit her son occasionally). She got in about a week ago and she's making dinner for me, Mr. Nola's sister, and Mr. Nola. I kinda really need her to like me 😉.

Other than not-wearing stiletto heels, a deep V-neck, and a really short skirt, does anyone have any good advice?

😳😳😳

Haha, yeah. They're increasing the length of their thread title to make up for *ahem* smaller things 😉.

Also, I wouldn't count on necessarily hearing back right on Wednesday (maybe unless you are accepted? I haven't been, so I don't know.) All of the dates that I've heard from various sources (including REL) have more or less been incorrect for me. Sometimes by a few days, sometimes by a few weeks.

(I've been hearing from REL regularly since I'm on the waitlist, but I haven't heard from him on any of the dates posted in that thread.)

wtf...he said he will be calling all the people in the last two interview groups on wed with decisions..either acceptance or wl....o well.

(confused as to why that's bad advice) 😉

Wear the stillettos, blouse, and a pencil skirt. Throw on some pearls for extra measure.

Awww, you'll do fine 🙂🙂🙂

No More !'s...We're on a budget and we have to show the new-new class less than three.

Wow, I guess the decline in the economy really DOES have far-reaching consequences.

Well, then might I suggest "The Most Prestigious and Excellent, the Honorable 2013, esq."?

Haha, I like it!

Actually I don't own any stillettos. And actually, I'd probably fall over if I wore some anyway.

Something classy is definitely in the picture, though.

Let's hope! I'm trying to figure out what I could maybe bring to the dinner. Wine/alcohol is out of the question since Mr. Nola doesn't drink (and probably his mother doesn't either). In general, the family doesn't really eat dessert either (they are crazy healthnuts).

Maybe some kind of fruit or something.

How about one of these: http://www.ediblearrangements.com/Default.aspx

carrot cake..it has carrots so it must be healthy right?

Those look awesome.

Take her flowers. Moms love flowers. Some type of spring-bouquet.

🙂 Yeah! That's a great suggestion. It really is. I think she'd appreciate it. I'll see what Mr. Nola thinks.

I am somehow asking myself if I'm at the flower-bringing stage 😉 Haha, does that say "I'm determined to be your daughter-in-law"? Cause that wasn't the message I was trying to send 😉.

Nada. I think it's just a thoughtful appreciation, especially considering that they aren't dessert or drink people 😉

Not something that looks really prepared, just like "oh, I thought of you"

Bring durian!

And say "kaa" after every sentence. She'll love you.

Also, what's durian...?

🙂 Yeah that's true. That's true.

I wonder if I commonly do things that are horribly offensive to Thai people. I would like to think not, but I'll let you know. It is my understanding that any kind of overt physical affection (even holding hands) is out of the question. Not that I would do it anyway, but...you know.

I would also like to note that I can't pronounce her last name, I talk more than the entire family combined, and I probably eat more than the family combined.

*sigh*

With any luck I won't be able to understand her accent and will spill the food on the floor. Haha...that's optimism for you 😉

Can't you ask Mr. Nola to teach you how it's pronounced? I can see how Asian names can be tough.

Yeah, I'm DEFINITELY going to. And I am going to practice it, too, for sure.

But I might not use it unless I have to cause I'm gonna sound funny saying it. It's a very long Thai name. I know her first name and could probably say it, but that probably wouldn't be polite. 😳
