Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i have been kind of lurking all day. 🙂 and procrastinating a ton.
I am at my parents' house and its almost as if it gets slightly odder and odder being here.. 🙁

hiya everyone! thanks for the congrats! 🙂

My friend's family retrieved her dad's medical records, which explicitly state that the doctor "will be called if the bleeding gets any worse".... for hours, and hours, and hours. Yet he was never called.

Boo... why're you over there?
I visit my parents on the weekends. 🙂 they like to see him, but I am trying to slowly let them know that once med school starts, i cannot visit every weekend.

im so sorry for your friend ombd.. its bad enough to lose a father, but to then find out that a doctor should have been called and may have helped? that is terrible..

just got my new monitor from dell today 🙂

i just watched teh series finale of ER...it was really good and brought back lots of memories of the good ole times 🙂 where you guys fans?

Exactly. he was laying in a hospital bed begging his wife and my friend's brother to call an ambulance...

which they had to respond to by telling him he was in a hospital, and he wanted to know why no one was helping him.

So so sad

what a terrible waste ombd.. im sorry.🙁

I used to watch ER on TNT when they would show reruns and never watched the new episodes. I just watched the finale and it struck me as being very similar to the older episodes and Mark Greens daughter was interviewed as a potential med student!!! hehe

I've heard the term before, but I am absolutely 100% terrible with pop culture. 🙁

I mean really bad.

OK, time for me to sleepiroo.

Have a good night, my friends!

BTW, I highly recommend going to any second look you are invited to (whether or not you plan to attend the school). Cause it's really nice to see a bunch of eager beavers tell you what they like about their schools minus the stress of interviewing.

I had an awesome time at my second look.

Long day... fun, but long...

I just got back about 20 min ago...

Good Morning everyone!

Busy day today as well...

Good bye!

Hey everyone 🙂

You know what else second look made me think about? Well, when we have to do residency interviews in four years, we'll all have a network of medical students all over the country, situated at the hospitals we'll be visiting. So we won't have to pay extra for hotels, maybe.

Definitely, anyone interviewing at [the school I will attend] is more than welcome to crash with me for a couple of nights while preparing for the residency interview.

Happy Sunday morning, all!

totally agreed!!!

So i got a packet from NYU yesterday and it tells me the stethoscope I need and info about computer specs and health forms. 🙂
I kind of want to buy a stethoscope now and not have to wait so I can play around with it. I need a Cardiology III that they say will cost ~$150 at the bookstore. I found it online for slihtly cheaper and they have this cool student pack that you can get for free, but you need student ID or something 🙁

Anyways.. are you guys gonna wait til you get to school?

hmm.. makes sense. although the letter stated that we will only need a stethoscope, reflex hammer, and medical tuning fork and we will be provided with a ophalmoscope and otoscope.
anyone else really excited that we are already in April? 😱🙂
