Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is probably the longest thread I've ever seen

I think the pit crew actually is longer, but that's the only longer one I know of.

Edit: Top carnivore (yeah, I'm stretching it...)

And to pass the time until then, you could vote for Zelda.👍

Sorry, but even though Carmen beat Chihiro, I am still voting for Carmen... she had more of an impact on me growing up than Zelda ever did...

I am obsessed with this show; if you start watching it from the beginning I can nearly guarantee you will be equally sucked in.

I watched one episode once, a few years ago, and was all 😱 omg this show is awesome! But then I never got around to watching it. But now I have plenty of guilt free time till med school starts! 😀

Can't decide if I want to watch 24.

So hungry! Why are my cells being awful today? I should be on lunch break by now. 🙁

Me too, but that doesn't make me <3 Zelda less. I'm just now playing Legend of Zelda for the first time.>.>;;;

They want you to enjoy Galactica that much more!

So I am sitting in my econ course, and there are some premeds in the back talking about how a 34 is a bad MCAT score, and how they are going to quit their lab as soon as their letters are written. I want to smack them down, but that would be mean, wouldn't it?

No. It would be an epiphany.👍

wait... it's not? 😕

Lol. A 34 bad?

Kids these days :smack:.

****! I missed the mailman.

Funny story about me growing up: I'm the only kid in my family with red hair so in response to me always being asked where I get it from, my mother told me to respond with "The mailman."

I was a little bitter when I was old enough to realize the double entendre. That was when I was 11 or 12. I told people for 6+ years my red hair came from the mailman.

Oh yes, the fools they let become doctors with a 34. Tsk tsk. Just you move along after graduation onto Hopkins and let them hear from advisors next year of where you're going and remember the priceless looks they will have on their faces as they find their next PI to sabotage them through LORs. Some people are so friggin irritating.

Funny, but pretty mean as well...

Anything above a 30 is a good score, in my opinion. A 3.7/30 is a good place to be if you're applying to medical school.

The difference in questions correct between 29 and a 30 is a lot greater than 33 and 34.

34 is ~65th percentile among matriculating med students... so I guess if ~top 1/3rd is the standard of good then it's a good score! 30 is ~43rd percentile.

I think being in matriculation regardless of percentile is a good standing. Pateints are not multiple choice exams that you can study for...

unfortunately, the mcat won't be the last multiple choice test you'll take in your career in medicine 🙁

Damn straight 😀

I hate those types 😡

Your mom sounds awesome

Yeah, but you're already in a hyper-competitive pool to begin with. Anyone can fall below the 50% percentile if you put them up against enough geniuses.

It's NOT?!!

OMG FREAK OUT!

 (jk)

I guess we should just quit while we're ahead, huh? If I was making a multple choice test, I would intentionally select the answers so they make a pretty doodle on the scantron sheet 😛

It was pretty genius, I must admit. She would hate to take credit for the smart*ss I am today though. Apparently I'm what some people would call sarcastic.

Med school? Competitive? Baaaah.

Double rejection from Jefferson! Wooo!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I just got that too. At least it's not a silent rejection, as everyone kept saying about Jefferson 🙂

Case in point 😀

Yay! Have fun!

Speaking of which, sarah are you going to NYMC second look this weekend? I'll be there on Saturday.

No  I'm heading out to Colorado for a wedding...it would have been nice to go and see the school between my interview and when I'd be attending, but alas it will not be this weekend where I can meet my SDN brethren. You're still going Downstate though, right? Unless someone throws a full-ride at you I suppose.

Yeah, I just figure I should do my due diligence and see what their Second Look is all about before I discard my acceptance. Who knows, I may change my mind. Unlikely, but still.

I was on the elevator at my apt (across the street from campus) with three other Penn students. The minute they started talking I knew immediately they were premeds. Then the really feminine male said, "is that Asian chick at our Bio table really smart or is she stupid. I need to know b/c I am trying to figure out who I want my orgo lab partner to be this summer." I blurted out, by accident, "f-ing premeds":meanie:

Pre-meds in the Radian?! Oh noes!:meanie:

So how do you detect pre-meds just as they begin to talk?
