Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I was doing ok when everyone in this thread was talking about how much exercising they were doing.

I've been doing ok with my workout, 3-4x/week on average.

Actually, I mostly eat boiled chicken. It's probably not the chicken that gets me--it's the biscuits and mashed potatoes.

Boiled chicken doesn't sound very appetizing :scared:

Eminem:

Greatest Rapper Alive?

Source says yes.

I am currently going through his discography at the moment.

Greatest rapper alive? I don't know about that. I would think Biggie or Tupac?

Dr. Dre is an amazing producer, not rapper.

He's an ok rapper too though. 2001 was a great album.

Btw, my prediction for the NBA Finals: Cavs-Lakers, Cavs in 6.

Wow, the Zelda fans are going crazy now. As if it'll do them any good...

So I have been wondering why I am starting to get a bit chunkier... I talked to my mom, and it turns out that she has been sneaking butter into my food...😡... Apparently my parents think I am too skinny🙄... They still remember me from my chunky days...🙁

Oh well, I ran 7 miles this morning, so hopefully that burned some of the extra calories off.😀

Ooohh butter sneaker! Grrr.

You'll be on your own again soon 👍

I said while you weren't paying attention.

Well, there's less than an hour to go. If there were ever a time to pay attention, now would be it 😛

😱 Whoa, that's not cool.

Yay OMBD! Don't buy into their propaganda 🙂

Haha, funky just posted "VOTE ZELDA" on my FB wall.

Vote Zelda.
Because you've already voted and... well... shame on you for letting that maniac into a med school.

WTF? I would yell at my parents if they did that to me.

I was very angry, but I was also wondering why the caramelized onions actually tasted good this week...😳

Alas, I will just run extra, to spite them🙄

One last attempt: If you vote Zelda, I will convince Berk to get Facebook!

What's up 09medstudent13:

Thanks for the support!

Before I ask you about caloric intake can you post your current lifting routine.
Do you focus primarily on isolated, single muscle movement?

Do you ever incorporate compound movements that require input from more than one muscle group?

How often do you modify your workout and how many sets/reps do you complete?

Well here goes divulging much about me, forgive the narcissism.

I'll be the first to admit that I have to get myself on a consistent and wisely detailed food plan. I currently try to eat healthy; with a balanced meal, but far too often I give in to high carb (primarily sugar-rich) meals.

My current routine is a four day rotation.... Day one is focused on chest and triceps alternating weight lifting. I start with a compound set of dumbbell chest press and butterflies. Usually 75lb for the press and 55lb for the butterfly. Next is a close-locked triceps pull down, which I pyramid (10, 8, 6, 6, 8, 10 reps) with 120, 130 and 140lbs. The second series is a declined chest press with 75lb. dumbbells; 3 sets of 10 reps; and behind the head triceps lifts with a 75lb. dumbbell. The last series involves isolated straight chest presses and butterflies with the previously mentioned weights and isolated triceps presses with 30lbs. dumbbells.

Day two focuses on back and bicep; alternating the two muscle groups. The back exercises are opposite knee and hand on bench and raising a 70lb. dumbbell to my check, reverse butterfly with 40lb. dumbbells and some sort of pull up (solely body weight). The bicep exercises are combined arm curls with 70lb. + bar, isolated arm curls with 45s, and hammer curls with 40s.

Day 3 is shoulders and legs. For legs I do, squats, calf raises and shin raises. For shoulders I do a duel press with a machine where I alternate my grip both lateral and perpendicular to my shoulders, a routine of lateral lifts and straight lifts and isolated military press with 60s.

On days 1-3 I also do an abdominal routine and cardio. I start each day with 10-15 min on a stationary bike to warm up. Mid weight routine I do 2000m on a rowing machine and to close the workouts I do 15 minutes of stairs @ 100 stairs/minute.

Day four is solely cardio and abdominals as mentioned previously.

That is hardcore.👍

As to the narcissism, you're not the one whose picture is being used to coerce people into voting for Zelda.

lol youre too witty for your own good

but really...how do i know who to vote for?
i almost feel like leaning more towards zelda simply cuz i liked her video games more...

You have 2 minutes! Vote Zelda!

The idea is to pick the candidate you think would be a better doctor. If you think batman has a demeanor that would intimidate patients and drive people away from hospitals (aside from all the people he'd be sending to the emergency room), Vote Zelda. If you think Zelda's looking out for the good of mankind and uses her triforce of wisdom and healing powers out of a genuine sensitivity to suffering, Vote Zelda.

If you can't decide, but have a history of playing classic video game franchises from 1987, Vote Zelda.

Because it's simple, really.

It is too late... voting closed already🙁 4 VOTES!😡

Sorry Myuu. Let the water works commence.
