Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Oh, Swarley, my neck is mostly alright! 😀

I managed to sleep in such a way as to immobilize both of my arms upon waking. Scariest thing ever.

:scared: That is scary; I frequently lose feeling in my arms, but never both simultaneously. You should really do daily neck stretches, I could help you out with that😉

It was several years ago. Unless you have a time machine, I'm no--hey, do you have a time machine?

Slashdot said:
"The release candidate for Microsoft Windows 7 will expire June 2010, and the software giant will let users know they need to pay to upgrade by shutting down the system every two hours for three months. According to Microsoft: "The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you'll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. You'll also need to install the programs and data that you want to use."

As a matter of fact, I am near completion of one as we speak. :meanie: (That is suppose to be a maniacal laugh, I've hired a voice coach)

A lot of guys ignore the laugh, and that's about standards. I mean, if you're gonna get into the Evil League of Evil, you have to have a memorable laugh. What, do you think Bad Horse didn't work on his whinny? ...His terrible death-whinny?

One of the lamest thing I've ever heard.

Yeah, that's right. Piss off the people developing software for your platform. Yup. Makes plenty of sense.

come visit me.
While looking at my own mdapps yesterday, I was reminded that I applied to UNC. My logic back then was "NC sounds like a nice state." So I applied to UNC and Wake Forest. Seriously, where were my brain cells?
Vadd is quoting rap lyrics with a pre-med twist.
Yes, but WHY?!

Well because he needs sleep, but, really, WHY?!

No reponse, BTW...

I was under the impression that these were suppose to be some of the more intelligent people who run these things. I apparently was misinformed.😡

Your advisors failed you. 🙁
LOL, no I didn't ask them about it at all. I think most of them know that TX students end up going to one of the state schools, so they really push those on us.

I really really wish I had found SDN before the app process. It has given me such a better perspective on what I should have done. But woulda' shoulda' coulda' is not going to change anything. It all happens for a reason 🙂

What do you mean?
That unexpected, and sometimes even unwanted events happen in our lives without us understanding why.....but there is a reason for them.

I think I know where you're getting at Sno 😉

I wish that were true.

Haha, well I was just wondering if it was based on a philosophy or religion. I hear people say everything happens for a reason and I consider it either wishful thinking or a banal statement, but it is quaint.

For me, it's religion. But for others I am sure it has nothing to do with religion. And some people think it's pure bs. And whether wishful or banal, I am sure you are not going to stop hearing that phrase anytime soon, lol.

Yeah, we try.. but the president's office is across the hall.. and he's... um, slightly overweight (to say the least), so he doesn't realize it's five degrees below zero.
LOL
That's just unnatural.....being that cold makes me sleepy! How do you work?!?!? Other than wearing gloves 🙂

Man, the hottest I remember Houston ever getting was 105. I couldn't walk more than a half mile before I thought I died.
Well Houston's humidity is like a freakin' blanket of death! That's why! There is rarely any humidity in Phoenix, so it's a more comfortable kind of heat. And really, after 110 degrees, it feels all the same. Leather interior in the car-will burn you though.

Humidity here in the summer is usually >80%.

My favorite part about living in Ohio is not needing an air-conditioner to live. At worst, I put a fan in the window. Although last night, I was pretty hot.

I don't suppose you know if that's also true in Cleveland, do you?😀

Phoenix, yes.

One summer, as I was boarding a plane to go back to TX, the current temperature was 117 degrees. And that wasn't a record high.

😱 At least it's a dry heat out there.

Very true for Cleveland. More so because of the lake. You are always getting a lovely breeze until autumn when it becomes feet of snow.

I currently have neither. I would greatly appreciate both! 😀

Well, right now I have lovely breezes, but that's more of a "it's spring and I live next to a highway" issue.

We are learning about steel swordmaking, and how they knew about steel but not how to mass produce it.

My professor is a huge nerd. He is talking about killing dragons with katanas. This is a class on economic history.

Well, what kind of dragon is it?

wow. I grew up in west TX, very, very similar weather (albeit it doesn't get as hot) to Phoenix. But I lived in Austin which, although not as bad as Houston, definitely has the humidity. The first month I lived there I took almost 3 showers a day because I felt so f-ing sticky! And after it consuming too much of my day, lol, I just had to quit my whining and get over it. 🙂 But yeah, dry heat>>>humid heat.
Dry heat is superior. And man.... I hate getting into a hot car. I think you should move a little further north 🙂
Chicago is my goal....one day 😛

All dragons. We're learning how to smelt now. I already knew how to smelt, I am a grand master miner and blacksmith.

Roll D20.
18.
Steel made.

Roll D20.
0.
Critical fail.
The steel jumps out of the smelting pot as if demon-possessed and eats your face.

Don't get the rest, but that part made me lol
Chicago is the best city in the whole world. I love that city more than Manhatten and Houston combined. I miss chicago now... 🙁 remind me to share some of my photos from my trip with you later!
Deal 👍 And I bet you mine are better! 🙂

Ok loves, I am going to go and do something with my life. I sent some transcripts off to school and felt a little too proud of myself for accomplishing.....a task that took a whole 10 minutes. Have a good day !
