Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
nope not bad at all...like driving from San Diego to Lake Tahoe.

ugggggg...I drove from Port Aurthur Texas (near the TX/LA border) to Los Angeles...29.5 hours 😱😱😱 I we spent 16.5 of those hours in Texas :laugh::laugh:
damn state is too big

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, 29.5 hours?? 😱😱😱 That's a LOT of sunflower seeds, lol. Yeah you're right, Texas is way too big, in the wide manner of speaking.. and not much in between the cities

You learn to find interest in your surroundings outside. Running is probably more mental than it is physical, you come up with your own mind games to keep yourself going. Kinda weird, I know, but it's also a great time to toss around life stuff in your head. I've spent a lot of miles thinking about where to go for school, lol.

Yeah man, 10 hours. Not horrible; I've made the drive between Baltimore and Detroit multiple times. Again, it's also mental.. gotta keep yourself entertained while driving! 🙂

So have you figured out the meaning of life yet?

A friend of mine drove from Florida to New York, that took about a full 24 hours.

I've settled on the meaning of life as: trying to spread your seed as much as you can before you die, so your genetic material continues to pass on, and that way you stay immortal. :meanie:

But no, I haven't gotten there. Maybe I'll get it eventually but for now I'll keep running 😛

Hahaha... I think it's just funny. It makes it all sound like gardening, which it sort of is, for guys. Although in this case, hoes are actual tools used in the act of gardening. :meanie: Speaking of that, my roommate's dad calls him his "seed"... kinda weird how that is but technically he isn't far from the truth, right?

Whatever, you can stay on the bottom if you want 😀

Haha wow this thread died out in the last hour. No posts in 1 hour? Sheesh. Well, I'm not about to go post-padding before I sleep, so for those of you who are still awake, good night 😎

I just withdrew from USF earlier today.

More to come later (I have been avoiding this thread).

My 10 miles on foot > your 20 miles on bike 😉 if you go by the half Ironman that Oglesby did a few weeks back, 56 miles is considered roughly equal to 13.1 miles. Just sayin'!

Though I'm sure I would be totally pwned if I had to bike 56 miles outdoors with hills and such. So props to you cyclists..

here are some triathlon bike/run combos that I've done:

(bike/run) (in miles)
10/2.5
11/3
12/3.1
13/3.5
18/4
24.8/6.2
56/13.1 (this one hurts)
112/26.2 (this one sucks)

Also, I saw this in the MD vs. DO thread we locked a little while ago:

Here, let me save you 8 hours:

Person5: You may be at a slight disadvantage if you want to get a really competitive allopathic residency
Person6: TROLL!!! TROLLL!!!! TROOOOLLL!!! TROLLLL!!!!! TRRRROOLLLLL!!!111 ZOMG!
Person7: No difference
OP (in 4 hours): I'm not a troll. Just wondering.
Person2: Since you're still here, <quotes a bunch of match rate statistics>
Person5: See, slight disadvantage for ortho/derm/rad onc...
<here ensues 4-page *****ic conversation about match lists>
Law2Doc: Match lists are only useful to those on the list because of cogent arguments x, y, and z.
GoSpursGo: Locking.

Hope this helps.

Apparently I'm the lock-master around here 😀
