Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would love to see some of these in action

I think instead of being moved to Allo, we should have 2013 moved to the lounge

Hey-o!!! New man on deck.

So I have been accepted at UASOM after 3 application cycles. I think you guys will appreciate this.

So I interview in October and don't hear anything until my notification that I am on the lower third of the alternate list. A month later I get an email from the Dean for Admissions requesting my official transcript reflecting the grad work I had done because they were re-reviewing my file. About a week later I send an email asking, "What is going on? I am confused." The Dean replies, "Let's sit down and talk about it next Wednesday, you already requested applicant feedback." I thought I was going to a meeting where I would be told how to improve my application... I was wrong. Not five minutes into the meeting he said, "I'm about to tell you something that will make you very happy." Since I have known nothing but strife and hard work for the past decade I was confused. The next words out of his mouth, "The committee has decided to offer you a position in our incoming class," caused me to take a double take. Did I accidently inhale something at work that caused me to pass out? No... it seems I am conscious. This must be happening. I replied, "Excuse me? Did you just tell me I am a medical student?" And I was. I am.

Today my life changed forever. No day after this one will be the same as the one before it. I will be a doctor. I hope we can all appreciate the position that we are in. We will be responsible for the well-being of other people. We will be the source, the answer that people seek when they are at their most vulnerable. I pray that I have the strength and the will to be what I must be... not just for me but for my patients.

Congratulations to all. Cheers.
