Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I need the money but desperately want to quit nowwww

Morning everyone! Hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend. Looks like I have 13 pages to get caught up on, so I'll be back in a little bit.

funky you are like my parents: go to bed early and get up early :meanie:

What can I say... I am an old soul.

Aaaah... it's good to be sitting at home doing nothing 😀

:slap:

Just came back from a good run... I haven't gone in 1.5 weeks, so I was only able to do 3 miles...

Oh well... time to shower. Oh and today is the banquet for all the research scholarship winners...

Two weeks of class left and 1 week of finals+graduation and then I am done!

Bottom....I can't believe this is just sitting here

Non-ninja'd top.

Back to being really bored at work. Oh how I missed it.

Yeah, I spent all Memorial Day weekend thinking, "Man I really can't wait to get back to work on Tuesday. These patient logs aren't going to update themselves" 😛

 good one

😀 I think I'm going to go work out in a little bit, then I'm gonna catch up with an old friend, have some drinks and watch the game tonight 🙂

Sounds like a plan 👍

Whoever was talking about disc golf a few pages back. "Are you kidding me, I live to Frolf" Andrew Bernard. Awesome episode of the Office.

since graduating a year ago, I've read about 10 books 😱 I'm a nerd

slow day in 2013...

Everyone's still recovering from the extended weekend 🙂

"So we’ve been told and some choose to believe it. I know they’re wrong wait and see, Cause one day we’ll find it, the ainbow-ray onnection-cay. The lovers, the dreamers and me."

Not at all. Reading is a good thing 👍

sarah, are you still riding your UMaryland high?

Yesssssss!! I still am shocked. Though looking for a place and getting health forms squared away has detracted from it a bit. I think its slowly turning into the "oh s**t I start med school in 2 1/2 months" scare 🙂

I think I'm up to 20 or so books, I must be a huge nerd!

haha I still remember when I got my Cornell acceptance. It was like a scene straight out of a movie. I woke up, checked my e-mail, and proceeded to scream and jump around my house. My dad hugged me and then said "Lyss can you put some pants on, jeez" ah, memories

But yea I'm starting to get a lil more nervous now that we are under 90 days till D-Day

I stayed with my buddy who's at Maryland right now and I thought the campus (that area of Baltimore) is pretty cool. He actually lives in the dorms right off Greene and Fayette, across the street from EA Poe's grave. 😱 It's closer to 'everything' than Hopkins undergrad is (and even JHMI for that matter), but of course it's close to the ghetto too :meanie: But it really does look like a great place to be! So congratulations.

I am convinced Lyss jynxed (or is it jinxed?) my boys last night! 😡

I took a "sick day" because I just didn't want to be holed up in my windowless office for the first nice day of weather Baltimore had in a while and was discussing financial stuff with my boyfriend, what to do with all my stuff and my dog if I was going to NYMC and how much easier it would work out if I was closer. After discussing it at length and my boyfriend muttering his distaste for Maryland after my previously negative experiences, we decided to take my dog for a walk.

And there was a big fat letter on my front porch. I called my mother before I even opened it and proceeded to jump up and down like a child as we walked my dog around the neighborhood making a million phonecalls 🙂

shut up roady and SDN2013 😡

It is a beautiful campus, and because of this, I never understood why Baltimore is thought to be such a horrible place... and the administration is super nice. I did not have change for a 20, so they just paid for my MTA light rail pass, and I apparently still have the ticket in my wallet.

Meh, if you're living in Baltimore you just gotta accept that you'll be close to ghettos no matter where you live. I even do now, but you get used to it too. I think I'm gonna live on an apt. building on Lombard if everything works out with someone I'm talking to now 👍

Rice, I sent BD a pic that looked like this:

OU8MssaH.jpg

He looks like he plays defense for the Lakers! :meanie:

He never acknowledged it... but I know he got it HAHA

Haha, did you go to Lexington Market by any chance? That may have changed your tune a bit...the Maryland campus is pretty sweeeet though

No. I went straight from BWI to my hotel at the Radisson Plaza, and I was near the school, and then from there I went to the UMD interview, and then I went back to BWI from there. The people all seemed really nice.

That is nice of them to do that. As I was saying, the location is pretty good for Baltimore - 5ish blocks away from Inner Harbor should you want to go and grab Five Guy's or something. So I thought that was cool.

Yup. I remember shopping at the Giant in Waverly, it was always fun walking down University Parkway and remembering which of the houses we were passing by got robbed in the past month. Honestly the part of Baltimore where UM is, is a lot better in comparison I think. Lexington Market has all the food you'll want, though it can be sketchy.. lol you'll have a blast

Maybe it had more to do with them not competing at the Nuggets' level? :meanie:

I'd say so too

Woo Hoo!!!!!

2nd time applicant just came off one of three waitlists!!!!!!

This is one of the top two best days of my life!!!

Congrats to everyone in so far and good luck to everyone else!!

Andrew

PS I dont usually use exclamation points at all, but I feel this occasion calls for them.

!!

¡¡¡¡Congratulations!!!! 😀

You'll feel great for a while. I immediately went out and bought one of those horrible license plate frames, so every time I walk to my car I just grin to myself.

I'm waiting to get on campus before I buy myself a hoodie. 🙂

lol I almost just let loose a couple of mice

They would've enjoyed it!

Same here... but considering there is no undergrad/ team, I am not sure if UTSW sells UTSW regalia...🙁

Oh well, time to actually do stuff...

See y'all later.

That Case hoodie was pretty seksi if I remember it correctly 😉
