Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I want to take my dog to the vet... something just doesn't seem right with him... but uhhh the vets around here try to squeeze you for all it's worth and i can't afford to pay $500 to run all of these random tests 🙁

The Lakers were originally from Minneapolis; thus "Lakers" makes sense. I guess it had too nice of ring to it when they moved, even though it makes zero sense.

Yeah, the Jazz used to be in New Orleans before they moved to Utah. That probably makes the least sense of any team 😛

Can't see it, but the filename was helpful. 😀

I originally posted one of those demotivational posters of a guy pile-driving a shark with Combo Breaker written at the bottom, but it wouldn't post correctly or something.

I'm really not too embarassed by anything on my ipod. I guess I do have a few guilty pleasures...anything by Enrique Inglasias, "Summer Breeze" Seals and Croft. I do have a few Michelle Branch and the Wreckers albums; but I'm not embarassed by them.

That's pretty bad, actually  I would post the YouTube vid for Bailamos if I could :d

I'm only embarrassed when it comes up unexpectedly in shuffle and my PI is around. :d

That and an amazingly hideous live version of zankoku na tenshi no te-ze in which Ogata Megumi sounds amazingly inebriated.

I still never got around to making a work-friendly playlist. Oh well, too late now!

Me too; if I'm in my room and suddenly "Goodbye to You" starts blaring. I can only imagine what my roommates think.

Michelle Branch is ok in my book 👍

does doggy welfare exist? I think I'd qualify. I'm a single mom

and whenever I talk to BD, I have to fight the urge to open up my biochem textbook and memorize the amino acids

I remember doing that for my Orgo 2 final, then promptly forgetting them about 12 hours later 😛

Thanks guys. Oh btw, Lyss, Cornell gave me the thumbs up. Hopefully needaccess will be fast, too.
Ms. Nooooooola don't tease me!!! You could make my dreams come true, ya kno!

If you have any questions you know where to go to... and their financial aid has been very generous this year so you might be surprised 😀

I did it for Biochem... I don't think it would hurt, but BD won't let me 🙁

must obey my online bf... my real life bf doesn't care

Cornell has had some decent waitlist movement this year 👍 which makes me happy

I was 110% expecting to be on the waitlist so I feel like I was plucked off the waitlist too

No doubt 😆

My pups have insurance. It helps a lot. 👍
if and when I get a new set of dogs, I might invest in some insurance. My dogs now really never went to the vet. In 12 years I think Brownie went to the vet all of 5 times (I probably should have taken him more tho for yearly check ups)

:ninja: hi lurkers! don't be scared! join in on the fun! introduce yourself! I like exclamation points!!!

That's really really encouraging.

Hot damn, visiting NYC for my sister's graduation was...amazing.

I was overwhelmed by the grandiosity of it all 😉:laugh:

NYC is it's own little world. My biggest challenge will be to not get sucked into it while I'm there!.... well a few times won't be so bad 😀

I know 2 of my close friends joining me at Cornell are from Florida  They are very excited to check out Manhattan.

I LOVED NYC. It was like Disney World for adults 😆

How can you not love NYC? It's the greatest city in the world! I think funky is the only one here who said he didn't like it.

I LooooovE being the tour guide and taking people around NYC that have never been. It's just so fun!

When BD came to visit, the funniest part was watching him get irritated with how fast NYers walk and how they kind of annoyingly walk behind you until you move to the side 😆 I swear he was going to smack somebody. Hysterical

Yup, 2 more days of work here too! Just got to get a few more things ironed out before I feel good about leaving CHOP behind... ah, I won't kid myself - I'll never feel great about leaving CHOP, what a great place to work..

The most amazing thing to me (okay, ONE of the most amazing things) was that McDonald's DELIVERS.

As if eating their food wasn't bad enough for you, now they take exercise out of the equation! 😛

yea but Funky loves New Hampshire 😕 His opinion is no longer valid

I totally do that. I mean, c'mon, if you're gonna aimlessly wander down the street, GTFO my way! I gots places to be!

Hehe, yeah, I need to get into UCF -- then I can go to the real Disney World. 😀

And hi pianola, long time no see!

Hey, I just got back from vacation yesterday.

NYC is it's own little world. My biggest challenge will be to not get sucked into it while I'm there!.... well a few times won't be so bad 😀

Yeah, yeah, I have loved every single visit to see my sister. I just thought NY was the coolest place ever every time.

Oh well.

I'm just gonna go about filing my need access ASAP.

I totally do that. I mean, c'mon, if you're gonna aimlessly wander down the street, GTFO my way! I gots places to be!
I do it too! but I walk a little bit slower than most NYers (I have short legs) but I still walk faster than Cali people! People have to understand the side walk is like a highway. There is a fast lane and a slow lane!

You know what? I'm gonna be so freaking glad the first day that classes start it's not even funny.

As if eating their food wasn't bad enough for you, now they take exercise out of the equation! 😛

So so true. I actually LOST weight in NYC though, due to all the walking. We don't walk much in MS (hence the high obesity rates). This was before I started running.

I'm not a NYer and I do that too... I walk really fast. Ha.

Hehe, yeah, I need to get into UCF -- then I can go to the real Disney World. 😀

I visited there very often as a kid - only about a 12 hour drive, it was totally worth it each time. The real Disney World rocks. Speaking of disney world, the new Disney Children's Hospital slated to open next year looks like it's gonna be as fun as a hospital can be..!

yea but Funky loves New Hampshire 😕 His opinion is no longer valid

Truth!

I do it too! but I walk a little bit slower than most NYers (I have short legs) but I still walk faster than Cali people! People have to understand the side walk is like a highway. There is a fast lane and a slow lane!

Yup, keep to the right, pass on the left. That goes for sidewalks as well as escalators in the subway (loiterers on the left side really piss me off 😡)

I have hearted NYC for quite a while now.

I'm excited and terrified all at the same time. I feel like I need to squeeze all the fun I'm going to be missing out on into these next few months, because sooner than later the party will be over.

And realistically, I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to see a lot of my friends ever again. Especially if they live far away  ah, such is life

Our benches say it all!!

EDIT: I found this one more fitting

Congrats!

Did you meet ar2388 there? She was at the graduation also!

I think it may have been because my interview was right after finals, and I just wanted to go home and sleep. Plus I was burnt out since it was my 13th? interview, and I needed a break. Now that I think about it, it wasn't a bad place, and I will apply for residency, but I am not too much of a fan of all the hustle and bustle... plus seeing the cars lined up with not a single space availible, and how scary the people drove there gave me a negative impression.
yea but Funky loves New Hampshire 😕 His opinion is no longer valid
Come to think about it, I went to NYC right after coming back from New Hampshire, so it was just too much on the extremes, since there were like 10 cars on the road at any one time in NH, while in NYC it was too busy... I think NYC is one of those "I'd love to go for a visit, but I would not like to live there" deals for me.
I'm just gonna go about filing my need access ASAP.
Need access does not take too long since most of the stuff is the same as FAFSA, there are just a few additional questions.

leaving to go get my teeth whitened.

$650 worth of pure pain 😱

Oh that reminds me, my driving skills in NYC have improved by leaps and bounds! I think I'm a pro!!! I'm so proud 😀

HaHa when non-NYers drive with me to NYC they are terrified

Yeah, I can't see myself living in a big city like that!
I don't see myself growing old in NYC... but I do see myself living out my young years there and eventually going somewhere slower when i get older and have a family

How can you not love NYC? It's the greatest city in the world! I think funky is the only one here who said he didn't like it.

:ninja: I definitely don't love NYC as much as you all do. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome, but just not quite me.

The most amazing thing to me (okay, ONE of the most amazing things) was that McDonald's DELIVERS.

😱 Seriously? Why am I only just learning this?

Hey, I really loved Baltimore, and I could see myself living there... but then everyone thinks that is weird... maybe I am too much of an oddball...

Haha, I meant it in all sincerity. Just found that picture to be oddly well-fitting. I'm glad I'll be here for another 4 years!! Though admittedly, unless you're from here, it is indeed very odd for you to love it.

I think NYC is a little too big for me to handle, personally. Baltimore is nice and manageable. Plus, Honfest is coming up!!!
