fdm, i'd go with a gift card - e.g., to starbucks or some other place your friend likes.

I am totally ditching work today if my PI's not here. I've been up since 2am and there's stuff I need to do at home. Why won't my co-worker reply to my email or my text? Maybe she's asleep because she's not going to work either? Hm.

I could just go ask her (she lives directly below me) but if she's asleep, I don't want to wake her up).

Yeah I want an iPhone, too....I have AT&T but my parents freaked at the price of the iPhone.....

Gonna get there, though! I told them an iPhone was a necessity for clinical years 😀

It's my co-worker who lives below me. She finally texted me back. PI's out of town all week. I guilted myself into showing up though. But I'm not staying for long. Just needed to check my cells and make some paraffin blocks for histology stuff.

I finally added up about how much debt going to Wash U puts me in and... 🙁 it's a big number that I wasn't quite prepared for. I'm trying to figure out how on earth one asks for more aid. I was expecting Wash U to be less expensive than this but apparently they think my parents can afford to pay $49,000 toward my education. Not sure where on earth that number came from because looking at my parents' taxes, I wouldn't think that. And they're not giving me anything, so yeah. This sucks.

Do you know what the cost difference is between WashU and your other acceptance?
 
Hmmmm....my friend from Miami medical school somehow knows that I got an acceptance to another school. Yet I haven't talked to her (or anyone in contact with her) and I haven't put it on facebook...

Is she on SDN (doubtful?) Do schools share this information with their students?

Or am I somehow no longer on the list of entering students at Miami...?

actually that is true...some financial aid packets I got from schools mentioned the need to purchase either an iPhone or an ipod touch for clinical years

I already withdrew from Downstate. Maybe should have asked for an extension but I'd already thought about it for 2 weeks. =/ Cost difference was about... Oh. Huh. Well going by SUNY's cost of attendance estimates, it actually would've been about even. Maybe a tiny bit cheaper since I'd have probably lived with my brother for a bit, but he still wanted to charge me rent so I'm not sure how much cheaper.

I just got into Tufts last Thursday but they're ridiculously expensive. Waiting to see my financial aid but I'm expecting to withdraw.

Good thing I basically said what I was thinking which is "I just don't know and I'm waiting on more information from Cornell."
