I could get a microwave and a hotplate to warm stuff on I guess, but I think it would be a bit awkward not having a kitchen. I think comfort during what will be some of the toughest years of our lives, doesn't come with a price tag. You really need a home to come to every night.

But if all else fails, you can drive to Ft. Worth a couple of times a week and cook in my kitchen 🙂

Yesterday was a long day 🙁 Nana got out of the hospital which is SO awesome (thanks for the well wishes and prayers loves) but that also means my nurse duties have doubled :laugh: I got sent upstairs to sleep.....and yet here I am 😀

cruise in less than a weeeeeeeek wat wat!


So, there are two formal nights on this cruise, and I have tried politely (which if you can tell is very difficult for me and probably not all that polite 😀 ) to tell my loving bf that he needs to bring NICE clothes on this vacation and he can't look like a bum... but I'm not sure he is listening 🙁 Uh I wish I had lots of money so I could just go buy him a new wardrobe. He needs it for school next year anyway...

When you figure out how to accomplish this, I may need to learn your secret.

I kind of not-so-delicately hinted to Mr. Nola that having dress pants is not really an "optional" thing, at least if you are trying to land a job.

The extent of his nice clothes = 1 suit. Literally, that's it.

I understand that money constraints may be tight, but they will be even tighter without a job...

I feel your pain, gurl! My bf is buying his first suit next week. (He has suits but they are hand me downs and they never fit 100%). Unfortunately, he's buying it with his family so I know it's going to be ugly.


That's the problem - he doesn't buy his clothes & his parents have the WORST taste in fashion I've ever seen. I understand you don't have to spend a lot of money on clothes to look good, but come on people! He needs to MAN UP and buy his own friggin clothes, cheap bastard.

Oh geez, it sounds like you are dating my bf, Lyss. Mr. Nola's mom has also bought all his clothes so far (and bear in mind she visits from Thailand once every 2 years).

And that's cool and all (his mom's taste is fine) but he seriously needs one pair of pants that is not jeans. I mean 1. At least one.

I think your bf will have to meet my bf in NY 😀. We can send them on a shopping trip.

OK, so we need to clear up this whole "2 week" rumor regarding medical schools:

After May 15 of the matriculation year (April 15 for schools whose first day of class is on or before July 30), each school implement school-specific procedures for accepted applicants who, without adequate explanation, continue to hold one or more places at other schools. These procedures:
  1. May require applicants to:
    1. Respond to acceptance offers in less than two weeks.
    2. Submit a statement of intent, a deposit, or both.
 
The hour between 12 and 1 has never gone by so slowly.
