Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I've been keeping a livejournal (well, started with blogspot then moved) since I was like... 13 or 14, and now I'm thinking of doing a blog that I'm actually okay with my family reading, because I think that'd be a nice bonding exercise (I suck at keeping in touch with people, because I do not like the phone).

But I can't figure out what to call it! 😕 I also want to create a new livejournal (I make a new one every few years to change the username, because let's face it, the usernames I think were cool 2-3 years ago are generally no longer cool now).

Anyone else going to be blogging?

Yeah, I still have my high school livejournal to keep in touch with a few friends, namely my best friend from high school who went to grad school in Boston. My family will still be around and bugging me though, so I don't think I'd make a "safe" one for their benefit.

I don't think I'll even bother to keep up with the one I have now, considering I write in it maybe once a month.

Why don't you just use "quirks" for consistency? 🙂

I think I'm going to start a blog once school starts; hopefully, I'll actually have time to update it.

Yeah, I used to have a Livejournal in high school, but it got all drama-y so I had to shut it down. Haven't used one since.

I've always been a journaler by nature so it's just something I enjoy doing. I've been finding myself wanting to connect with my family (just my immediate family though, so my brothers and my parents) more and more as I get older, I guess because the older I get the less the age difference (4-8yrs) between me and my brothers matters and we actually have things to talk about now. 🙂 I almost would just send out an e-mail to everyone periodically, but I like the format of a blog better.

My family's also pretty spread out. My parents don't even live in the US. Only time we're all guaranteed to be in the same place is sometime around Christmas.

I started a blog for med school as it seems like a really great outlet. I love reading the blogs of 3rd years at my school.

One of my favorite things this summer has been reading med student blogs! I've yet to find any from my school though. 🙁 That would be pretty awesome.

quirks is taken. 🙁

I update lj the most when I'm supposed to be busy.

You can always title it "quirks" and make the actually site addy something different.. like, I have a friend who's title is "Chasing Zebras" but that was taken so she used something different for the user name.

They were on an anniversary cruise and it got bad. The infirmary treated for 3 days until they could dock at St. Thomas.

The hospital there has been treating since Thursday. They finally got in the States yesterday.

Needless to say, there's a reason why American MD = American DO =/= Caribbean.

In VERY random news, I bought a SmoothAway today.

Figured it would be a complete waste of ten bucks, but so far it seems to sort of work. I just need a little practice 🙂

So..unless someone convinces me otherwise, imma drop AECOM soon and commit 100% to UNC, since im no longer on any waitlists.

Do it! Do it! Do it!

I think UNC will be a great fit for you...AECOM has its own perks and the idea of packing up and leaving for NYC is attractive but at the end of the day if you feel all else (besides $$) being equal that you'll do better at UNC. You can always do residency elsewhere 👍

Yep, tentatively the weekend of July 10th. We're still gauging the interest level though.
I know it sounds crazy....but I so would be down for the NYC trip, then Austin the next weekend. 😀
👍:soexcited::soexcited:👍 Way to go Spurs; 6K!
Yay Spurs !!! :hardy:
I can't really see myself blogging. But if I did I'd probably make it non-med school related or only tangentally related.
If I was a better writer I would......just to have to look back on
My uncle's MRSA is pretty bad.

They are going to remove his foot.
I'm sorry OMBD....prayers for y'all, and :luck: with the kiddos.

I am sitting outside of a gate going to Raleigh and for a second I thought"screw finding an apartment, I'll just go see Chubbs"

DUDE>>>I CAN BE THERE IN 50 minutes!
:sigh: I wish I was that cool and spontaneous....but it's going there for the weekend and trying to explain to my parents where the hell I am .....or making sure I have a place to live when school starts 🙁

I hate responsibility.

Oh yeah, this is the SAME uncle who just got word he's about to have six children.

Aw man. Poor guy. 🙁 I hope he gets through this soon! :xf:

That would be awesome! Come! Seriously, I am all on my own until I finally move out of this town. Nearly everyone I know in the area's gone for the summer. I need some crazy social time!

If it's just for your own sake, you don't need to be a great writer! You could even create a livejournal and make all the entries private so you're the only one who can see them.

Y'all tell me when and where 😀

And I am such a poor writer I probably wouldn't even have the heart to go back and read them

😡🙁 Got stuck in Chicago. Last flight to Dallas.

Options:
A) Go back home to Phoenix, without my clothes. Try and catch a flight from there to Dallas in the next couple of days.
B) Catch the train back into town, just to come back 6 hours later to try and catch another flight.
C) Give up at life and fly somewhere far, far away.

Hope your uncle turns out okay, OMBD. 🙁 Such a shame
