haha i got my learner's permit at 18 i believe for ID purposes after a stupid Florida (no offense floridians, its a sunny warm place 🙂) bouncer would only accept a state id and nothing else.
my dad and i have plans to teach me how to drive this summer; hop[efully it will happen

Its a piece of cake as long as you are dealing with an automatic transmission.

Dad tried to teach me how to drive standard just for the knowledge... but its a LOT more work. I pretty much kill it everytime I try.

😱 Watching the Suze Orman show and a guy wants to upgrade his fiance's 1 Karat diamon to a 3 Karat diamond ($35,000!). wtf! 😡 Suze Orman has told him he can afford it, but she was very upset and annoyed at having to be honest and tell him that.

for serious though, I'm looking at non-traditional rings for when I get engaged/married. I want to be able to wear my ring and not just my wedding band.. so I'm looking at "stacks" instead. Where I'd get the middle flat ring for engagement and the outer rings as my wedding band.
 
I'm not THAT high maintenance. But I really really like the three ring idea. I like the 3 stone rings but it would be so improbable to wear an engagement ring at work. 3 rings is the next best thing. Even with stones, they are flat and wouldn't catch on gloves
 
Helped mom clean out the cedar chest today... we have so many of my baby clothes. Even after cleaning out the things I didn't want, there's tons left.

If nothing else I'd like to bring my baby home from the hospital in the same thing I wore or was supposed to wear (the boy outfit).

I'll be living in Fort Worth, about 15 minutes away from Arlington, and it REALLY is like that. Brown flip flops, brick roads (only in front of my school 😛) and a Starbucks everywhere :laugh: Dallas is definitely the most pretentious though.......

Ooh, I hadn't heard of stacking rings before. Those look cool! I like them. 🙂

That's really cool that you guys have your baby stuff! My mother's sad that she gave away pretty much all of mine. She wishes she'd hung onto some of it.

How's he/she getting there? I have no idea how on earth to bring my bird. This would be simpler if I wasn't going to Seattle to see Mr. Quirks but we might not see each other again till October or November otherwise.

I think its the only child thing. Mom saved EVERYTHING.
 
In other news, my uncle is recovering well. He started physical therapy today. It'll be about 4 weeks before he gets his prosthesis, but they were able to save the calf muscle and the accessory muscles that work the knee, so it won't be too hard to learn to work the pros.
 
The kids are coming in about 6-7 weeks, and both he and my aunt are in great spirits and ready to get this behind them so they can have the family they've always wanted. Its amazing how resilient they've been.
