Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Me too...luckily they told me I could wait until I got there. Yay for laziness and procrastination!

True, but I finish in early march.😳

Dear Myuu, I think this is a sad mistake. According to the 2009-2010 calendar, Block 4 ends in May, not March (although there is a spring break in March). The M2s finish in the March of their year, though.

But oh, how I was hoping that you were right! 😛

"A mouse is an animal that, if killed in sufficiently many and creative ways, will generate a PhD."

Haha, I thought this one was great OMBD 👍

The true C/O 2013ers know that...

15000

is a huge milestone!

And yes, you have all been blessed with 15000 useful phrases

Congrats on 15K!

My goal has been achieved.

Goodnight, dear SDN.

(Oh, and TOP)

Geez, a whole page to yourself. I don't know if anyone has ever or will ever achieve that again 😛

Have you guys filled out the AAMC MSQ yet? I just got it in my email today.

Didn't take me 20 minutes like it said it would.

I did that a few weeks ago, it was pretty quick. No weird questions like "have you killed any hookers in the last 6 months?"

but how is everyone doing, class of 2013? getting excited?

😀

Excited, but mildly terrified as well.

I hear you. I'm almost done packing for my move, but there's a brand new anatomy text sitting on top of one of the boxes as a reminder of what's to come (next week!). 😱😀

I threw that one in just for you, sarah 😍
Why thank you, darling 😛

Case with Myuu, huh? Good luck!!! I have an atlas from a course I took in undergrad and am resisting the compulsion to study from it before school starts under advisement from older med students. I kind of hate the fact that I worked this past year instead of being in school but at the same time, I guess I could've used the mental break 😳

On another note, I'm helping about 5 people from my UG on their personal statements. I like helping them, but at the same time its a little annoying.

Poll: what advice should I give to someone with basic volunteer ECs and school clubs who is 1/2 URM 1/2 Middle Eastern descent and gay? I'd hate to tell them to pull the minority card in a PS but with little to go from I think they may need it...

Personally, of the ones I've read, the ones that deal with being gay are more interesting than the ones about race.

Thanks, and best of luck to you, too! I'm sure you're right about the mental break - this way, you'll have lots of enthusiasm for studying, which should get you through at least the first few weeks. 😉

I, as well as my friend, am pretty worried about how it could come off to an adcom especially with little experience in medical care for the LGBT community. They've had some personal experince with HIV through family and friends but no real activities involving it. It could be sink or swim, you know?

I wonder how often its disclosed among applicants in a personal statement. I know once they hit school, many LGBTs are open but that's different than putting it down on AMCAS.

Yeah, I did a quick read-through of Lippincott's biochem and Moore's Clinically Oriented Anatomy a few months ago... and I haven't looked at anything since.

That's true, I guess it comes down to whether your friend wants to reveal that information or if it even improves the PS in any way. That's a tough one 😳

What do you all think of my most recent photos?

I'm sensing a theme 😛

The Cocker Spaniel made it through about ... 35 minutes of packing/cleaning out.

Good thing mom's coming up to facilitate the process this weekend. Otherwise I'd be SOL.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww! I thought that's what the M2 told me... I could've been very, very wrong.:laugh::laugh::laugh:😳

 That's awful.

So I had to go back to the doctor again, cuz I've been sick for a full week and it's only getting worse... of course, I've got a sinus infection to complicate the viral crap I had last week (I could've told him I had a sinus infection w/o paying any money...), so I got MORE meds. Hopefully I get better soon. I miss being able to breathe and sleep 🙁
