Searching for airplane tickets is such a PITA. 🙁

Also, it costs anywhere from $50 to $150 per flight for me to take my bird in the plane, and there's no nonstop flights to St Louis. At least they don't require a vet check on top of that.
 
How do you take a bird on a plane? Do you check it? Carry it on? I have never imagined taking a bird. It sucks how much it costs...

www.studentuniverse.com always has the cheapest plane tickets for me.

You can check it (but not during the summer) or carry it on. Or you can ship it as cargo, which right now is my cheapest option. The only problem is I'll need to take her to vet within ten days before the flight.

She was in such a mood this morning too! Had to give her some cinnamon toast crunch to keep her quiet (recently discovered that she loves cereal. Knew she loves carbs but hadn't tried giving her cereal before). 😳 Probably not the best for her, but she's only had it... three times now.

Wierd. I hope you can work it out. What kind of bird?
 
Well I'm home from the doc and breathing okay 1 hr post injection. I have a welt the size of a half dollar and am itching a bit.. hopefully the initial reaction is subsiding or the benadryl is kickin in.

Orientation is on August 15th and classes start on August 17th... only 43/45 days left

well, my allergic rxn has spread to half my hip. its swollen hot and itchy. on top of the 50mg benadryl I've done every 4 hourse, I added some prednisone. self medication ftw!
 
Oh. I'm class of '13 for graduating UNDERGRAD.

That means I'm class of 2017 for med school! 😱

I feel slightly better... my spot of interest is now about the size of a credit card but not as swollen/knotted as last night. My self medicating mustve worked.

It was ok, I don't really have anything to compare it to since I don't really watch TV.

Glad you're starting to feel better.
 
My ID card doesn't work anymore. 🙁 I had to wait for someone to come by so I could get into my lab. Today was my official end date, but I still need to put in 1.5 - 2 weeks more work on my project (which, going by how my cells looked yesterday, might be over prematurely...).
 
I can't wait to 1) move into my new apartment 2) quit my jobbbbbb and 3) go on my camping/climbing/whatever else trip for a few weeks before school starts

That sounds great! When do you get to do all that?

This is kinda my last day (two week vacation before work for half a week and move)! And its short!
 
Move next weekend, work until the 17th, help my bf move to his new place at his school, then putter around Westerd MD/WVa until he starts on August 10th since I don't start till the 13th.
 
its. so. hot.

Yesterday, hattiesburg was tiwd with austin as the hottest city in the country.

Hence why after 3 hours, we're headed home. car says 139 but I think that's a little off. haha
 
I can't wait to go new apartment stuff shopping! I'm so sad I won't be near an ikea anymore. 🙁 But at least there'll be a Trader Joe's!

Found out that it's $150 per trip, not per flight, so yay! I think I'll be taking Chu in the cabin with me then. Now I just need to figure out if I'm leaving her in New York or bringing her to Seattle with me (strangely, new york --> seattle --> st louis is not by default cheaper than new york ---> seattle ---> new york --> st louis).

Looking forward to taking her to the vet and getting her wings re-clipped (and if it's cheap enough, getting her DNA sexed). Bird following me around the house and landing in my hair gets annoying immediately. Also buying her a harness so I can finally take her outside. Fresh air!

Going to be bringing your lunch to school? I'm definitely doing that. Got in the habit this year and it saves a lot of money. It's also fun. 🙂
