Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
that Turiaf block on Kobe was 😱

Monta Ellis will always be overpaid (As will Kevin Martin and the Allan Houston-eque players probably)

Monta is really, really good. I think he just doesn't have the size to be "elite."

never had a 4.0 in my life (I think) 🙁

It's not that great. Creates much stress.

Thumbs up for Kobe, yes.

Hey man, we have 9 wins. Gotta be proud of each and every one. 😀
Geez. Thumbs up for Kobe is a sin.
Kobe has been clutch this year but going to OT/last minute against the Kings in LA, without Tyreke Evans

thumbs down
The Lakers have either been dealing with chemistry issues between Artest's weirdness and Bynum sulking for not getting touches, or they're just bored with the regular season. Unfortunately, I think it's probably the latter.
hey spurs,

what % of your classmates would you say are really nerdy and toolish?
Lol, I think it's fairly low, but then again I'm fairly nerdy 😛 I guess I'd say MOST of my class is fairly nerdy because, cmon, we're all science nerds at heart on some level, but most of them are cool too and have a life outside of med school. I'd say the ones that are both nerdy AND toolish around 10%; there are definitely a couple who have their eyes set on AOA and Derm/some other super-competitive specialty and will push you out of the way to get there, but they are in the vast minority. You just kind of accept that a couple of those people exist and try and stay away from them, which is easy enough to do since you've got the other 90% who are relatively normal 🙂
Also, in other news, I still have a 4.0. Don't ask me how, because I don't know.
👍

Yeah, I never had a 4.0 either, not a single semester.

what does that mean? like what do they do? do they literally push you out while you are taking an exam?

Monta is really, really good. I think he just doesn't have the size to be "elite."

But he's being paid like an elite player. And as we've said, while he's pretty talented, it feels like he actively hurts his teammates when he's on the court since he dominates the ball so much. If he could figure out how to balance his own scoring and get his teammates really involved--and I don't just mean driving every time down the court and then kicking it out if that doesn't work--as well as actually try and play defense, kind of like Brandon Roy, he might be able to bust into that elite status. As it stands, he's always going to be around the 15-20th best player in the conference, never make the all-star team, and never really lead his team to anything until he figures that out.

Lol OK maybe that's a bit much. Obviously they're not going to actively sabotage you or anyone else, it's more that there's a couple that it's not enough for them to do really well, they also feel the need to make everyone else know that they're really smart and awesome--so basically, these are the toolbags who were asking inane questions from the front row in your science classes in undergrad or the ones who would casually drop that they got a really high score on the last exam into everyday conversation even when it has nothing to do with what you were talking about. You know, those same people who did that kind of stuff in college, and a couple of them made it through to med school.

I agree, overpaying hurts the **** out of your team, esp in the future.,

Right now, it's disgusting how young guys are being overpaid by their teams as soon as they're done with their rookie deals. They'll convince themselves that their young guy is gonna just keep developing into their franchise guy, so they bid against themselves to make him "happy," and then they just never reach that level. Ellis and Okafor immediately jump to my mind as guys this happened with, but it also happened with Villanueva and Detroit--even though he wasn't with them beforehand, Detroit fell in love with him and bid against themselves when nobody else was gonna give him anywhere close to that money. I'm sure there are plenty of other deals just like that that I can't remember off the top of my head that just kill teams. It kind of happened with Rashard Lewis too, who isn't anywhere near a max guy, but luckily the Magic have Dwight Howard so that didn't matter.

I still like you though. You are one of my favorite SDNers. I want to study anatomy with you.

haha I lay to claim! I am not sure why you consider Atlanta the cesspool of America but I've spent the past two summers in Southern California (with frequent visits to LA) and I will say that I like my air not to burn my lungs 🙂

When did this happen?
and why do you sound suspiciously like MexicanDr?

Jerome James. NBA makes no sense and no wonder half the league is going broke. At least you are lucky to be a Spurs fan. They rarely make stupid moves. As a Wizards fan I have to live with the reality of Agent Zero and Antwan Jamison taking up half of our cap space.

Let me just say that Spursy's drunk texts last night were hilarious. I think he may have asked me to sleep with him.

Haha, man I should send you the string of e-mails he sent me. He's very enthusiastic when he's drunk, haha.

Um... yeah. Today was awful. Not only because we lost but because they told us we weren't allowed to do a marching halftime performance because of the field. We just stood there while the grounds crew wandered around on the field being way distracting. It was one of the most disrespectful band moments I've ever seen. I was in tears about it after the game. F*ck you, Capital One Bowl people.

That really, really sucks 🙁

Haha, awesome.

I miss when this was your avatar.

I'm back from Canada, so :hello: , eh!

I'm very fickle. Spursy giveth, and Spursy taketh away.

The amount of which Spursy giveth or taketh away is directly proportional the amount of spirit imbibed, the time of day, and total distance in kilometers from the lunar equator.
