I don't remember if the original Metroid was any good or not... I always hear people talk about Super Metroid. But those other 4 are beyond reproach.
I decided it was a good, random, different one to have around just in case.

I like to think I'll make some guy friends in med school and this way they can blow things up.

I think Mario III (NES) is my favorite game of all time.

I actually think the best Mario game of all time is Super Mario World. The game is just so big, so many hidden areas, you could play for months and months and still find something new 🙂

I've never really thought about what the best game of all time was, though. I think Ocarina, first time through, might be my favorite. I'd never played anything like Zelda or Final Fantasy before then, so it was a whole new experience for me.

So my dad bought a used HDTV today for $100. It's just like the one I have at my house, but newer. It's a Samsung 30" tube HDTV, so it's thicker, but not as thick as the really old school TV I have at my apartment. Looks like this:

I have to find a way to get it on my dresser in my room, then I can have HD in my room! I will be so happy.

I don't have a wireless classic controller and I don't feel like getting out of bed to play Zelda, so it looks like that one won't be tonight.

For $100? That's amazing.

Yeah SMW was a great game. I never played it when it first came out but I got the port on Gameboy Advance I think it was...

 How far away is your TV? In my dorm, it would've been impossible for it to be far enough for a cord to not reach.
Oh my room is itty bitty, but I don't think the cord is very long on the controller.

I'm having fun dying at Mario anyway.

You can't use the Wiimote?

I didn't know Wii had wired controllers? But you can plug Gamecube controllers in, right?
You have to use a 'classic' controller for Ocarina. I got one of those as a present with the wii card but it has a cord.

It's ok. Mario is fun. I forgot how bad I am at it. I try to get every little thing in a screen so I end up dying a lot.

Lol. Sometimes it's better to dodge. Like Hammer Bros, for example. I never face those guys.

I've never played Twilight Princess. I hated the graphics of WW at first, but I ended up really liking it and it had a good storyline. You're definitely right about the sailing - it sucked for a long time. The teleport thingy wasn't even that good, you never ended up close to where you wanted to go.

Nice multi-quote, JJ.

literally the exact same thing, but change 1 - 2 months into 1 - 2 weeks

JJ, EPIC MULTIQUOTE. Jesus.

The gym I go to is the huge one, correct
Had to catch up. 👍

I used to play Super Mario World as a kid.

If you're looking for a new game, Dragon Age Origins is really good.

So I might be leaving very early tomorrow morning for the parades, but I actually don't know yet - my source hasn't gotten back to me.

Which means there's a fair chance that I stay up until 3 tonight and wake up before 8. :lame:

Yuck.

It seems like you do that a fair bit, though.

After my shower I am still extremely awake.

Sleep will not come easily tonight.

That's what I get for waking up at 8 for one hour and then falling asleep again to wake up at 1. When I woke up the first time it was all snowy, and when I woke up again it was just wet.

I was tipsy before but now I'm fine. I also had to catch up on email. I want a Blackberry.

You must be so relieved. Sleeping in FTW

Definitely. The Mardi Gras day now shifts from 8-5 to 3-11. That's much more my schedule and now I get to catch the end of the parade downtown.

I would like an iPhone, but I'll wait until school starts.

I don't like touch screen and I really prefer having actual keys to press.

I don't like it either, but I'm not sure about other options. I know I don't like Blackberries, though.

I guess it just comes down to which one has the best medical (or any) apps. Wouldn't the iPhone win? I'm just so confused about smartphones.

I don't know much about them either ! This one doctor I shadowed had her Blackberry act as her beeper, so messages were sent directly to it. I thought that was pretty cool. You can probably do this with an iPhone too, but iPhones feel really bulky to me. Business professional people have Blackberries and they're always emailing/organizing things. That's exactly what I'm looking for in a phone so...

i can't sleep in anymore, so sad. i have no reason to be up now but i'm wide awake.

all that video game talk made me want a wii. i think i'll get one before school starts-the mario games are my fave. supermario and the racing one ftw🙂

brooklyn-that sucks! how'd you not know it wasn't an open bar??

gooood morning 🙂

cute story: waaay back in early october, i met the sweetest old couple on a flight back to boston from an interview. we were talking and it turned out that the gentleman was a pediatrician who graduated from harvard in '52.

yesterday out of the blue i received a letter from them asking how medical school applications were going and to keep them posted! it's crazy not only that they remembered meeting me, but they also were able to recall my full name and find my campus address. i am impressed.

looks like parking garage hill-work for me again today.
stupid student activity center is closed! I want my long run!

Cool that sounds super nice. But why'd you give them your campus address?
