Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

hey hey sammich :hello:

Why? That sounds unnecessarily stressful.

You should be taking it easy.

tell me about it!! one of my co-workers is going on maternity leave till august and ill be covering for her which will make me at least 175%!

on a positive note, im pretty much doing all the running around for her since she is like 8 months now so no more exercising for me today :meanie:

To days of inspiration, playing hookie, making something out of nothing, the need to express, to communicate, to going against the grain, going insane, going maaaaaad.

It's definitely my favorite song from Rent.

I saw it 3 times when it toured here. In a week. The first night adam pascal wasn't Roger, so I student rushed it and saw him twice. :biglove:

I met Anthony Rapp freshman year. So awesome.

I student rushed too the first time I saw it!

Adam Pascal randomly shows up in movies these days. I just happened to be watching School of the Rock yesterday for the first time (I know, I know) and he's totally in it, singing with his lovely voice.

I love him. I payed big bucks the first time I saw it, so I was sad he wasn't in it. He is so amazing.

Also, seeing Rock of Ages on Broadway (2nd row) was probably the happiest night of my life.

Broadway is really expensive. I'm going to have to find a way to finance seeing a few during med school, just to keep my sanity. A good Broadway show just gives me the chills. Funniest show EVER is Spamalot - I actually saw it in London. I've never laughed so hard.

i still get chills when i hear al michael's call of the ending

 i feel ya. "the giants win the penant, the giants win the penant." apparently my grandfather still gets teary eyed if he hears this...

Ended up getting REALLY lucky and getting 2nd row for $79. I've been to concerts that cost more than that. And it was 80's songs put to a musical.. :biglove: Can't get any better.

That is a good deal! You know what I've never seen - Wicked! I'm always out of town when it is touring in town. Its next on my list.

When I hear the call for when the Saints made it to the SuperBowl, I get a little emotional.

Just the emotion in the announcer's voice and his phrasing/word choice, that's what great sports calling is all about. It's hard to get great calls from people like Joe Buck who do all kinds of different sports and only do the big games with no emotional attachment to the team.

Totally agree! Its about the heart and soul.

Also, my favorite blog: http://1000awesomethings.com. I bet you can't read it without cracking a smile. Unless you have no soul.

ahhh i see. side story - i have an old aunt who just falls asleep during dinner. we will be sitting, eating, have nice conversation, when all of sudden you hear...😴. its a talent really - i've never been able to fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I think this will serve you well during clerkships/residency when you need those cat naps at random times of the day.

I don't really have any desire to see any Broadway plays. Wicked would be okay, or the Lion King broadway.

I'm just not usually a fan of musicals.

Its not for every one. Its just my personal preference that we could walk around and break into song every once in a while.

the thing is, i can't fall asleep at all at other times. especially not in my bed during normal hours

Hmm I want to get to 1,000 before the end of this semester. I better get on that.

I wish life was a musical. It would definitely be better if I had a soundtrack play when I walk around.

Yayyyy bob!!

have you seen the food court musical that improv everywhere did?

they just bust out into a full musical number in the middle of a real food court, hahaha

 That's awesome. Its my dream come true. I wanna join the group. How do I apply?

Are these the same people who did the Apple Store hula?

At least you can have your own personal soundtrack in your head. But alas, its nowhere near as cool as the real deal would be.

That was epic. I want that to happen spontaneously in real life everywhere, maybe once a month a guaranteed musical number would occur. There could be a sign-up list online or something.

 hahaha, if you have some free time, sign up for improv everywhere they have some funny missions

You can do it! I never even thought I'd hit 100 and look at me 🙄

True. I pretty much live my life through song quotes though.

That would make life so much better.

bummer that i don't live in nyc to do this but there is hope...

I live somewhere other than New York, can you help me do something similar in my area?
We do not sanction official branches of Improv Everywhere, but those interested in participating in Improv Everywhere-style events in their own city may join The Urban Prankster Network. There is probably already a local “IE-inspired” group created there for your area. We request that groups do not use “Improv Everywhere” in their name. There are no “chapters” of Improv Everywhere. We do ask that you link to this site and credit us as the source of your inspiration, but also make clear that you are an independent group not officially affiliated.

that's the only time i can sleep! i can't take naps or sleep in a car or with any noise/light...it's bad, i'm scared for residency when i'm supposed to sleep in the hospital.

just finished my federal taxes woohoo! i'm still waitng on my parents so hopefully if i do the fafsa in the next couple weeks it wont hurt me. evms's deadline is apr 15 and even if i'm accepted later on at a school that had an earlier deadline, it won't hurt me right?

I signed up for the Boston one. We'll see if I ever get the courage to do any of them though, haha.

Watching House. Even though everyone on SDN has been hating on house lately.
