I've had Friday classes every semester of college, and will all through college. It sucks because classes like microbiology and genetics only have 1 section at my school. Same with the biochemistry, analytical, and physical chemistry classes.

I like the summer because the classes are MTWR, but there are no Friday classes offered. Some of the summer classes are like twice a week for three hours each meeting and stuff, but either way no Friday classes rock. I just enjoy having labs on separate days from lectures. That's my perfect schedule, classes MWF, with labs on Tuesday and Thursday.

That sounds really interesting. I've always been an E.R. guy, but the ICU seems like it would have a ton of cool procedures.

I'm a sophomore and I'm worried about getting good science LORS. The one teacher who has really inspired me and has told me I would be a great doctor in his opinion is retiring. He has emeritus status too, so it would be great to get one from him. I can only imagine how hard it would be being removed from undergrad for a few years.

Speaking of speed skating, did you see the absolut bull**** that happened when they disqualified Ohno from the 500m? It was ridiculous.

After seeing the replay 5 times, the gold winner pushed the Korean and the other Canadian fell on his own - Ohno's hand was there but he didn't make any push. Absolute crap - if anybody should have been DQ'ed it should have been the Canadian. 😡

agreed. a lot of these olympics seemed rigged. i don't know if you saw the last 3 minutes of the slovakia and canada game, but there were like twenty penalties on canada that should've been called.
 
So I just submitted a bit of extra credit for Biochem - productivity!

We can get 1 extra credit point per week (max 10) for posting on the class forum about some article that's biochemically relevant. Thank you Google Scholar.

Seriously, I think it's normal to get those thoughts every now and then. I know I still do, especially in weeks like these when it's like all studying all the time. But still, even in the midst of how time consuming it was... there was at least one thing I read every day that made me stop and think, "Holy ****, that actually happens?!" And that sort of made my day a little brighter. I still left school every day with a smile on my face 🙂

So, I'm not sure exactly what I'm trying to say. But I do think that, on the whole, it's definitely gonna be all worth it.

This is a good idea too. If I could go back, I'd give some serious thought to deferring for a year, just to get all of my crazy whims out of the way before I hunkered down 😛

I keep meaning to look into whether I could do one of those trips. My parents are both jewish but I've never been to temple in my life so I don't know if I'd be eligible. It sounds awesome though!

Edit: I think I am eligible! I'll have to look into going either next winter or summer.

I feel that way sometimes too. It's frusturating to still not know where you're going after 9 months of applying. Then you wonder if it's actually going to be worth it in the end when you hear how long and tough the road of med school and residency is.

you should be eligible if you are born Jewish, I think. But I believe there is an application for Birthright? There's also an age limit I think

Hi everyone! I got 11 hours of sleep last night. It was pretty awesome. I would have kept on going if I didn't have something to go to.

oh man that would give me a headache!
I woke up at 7:30. But it felt so warm and nice in bed so I just stayed there for a while lol.
