Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So....I crashed at 7:30 last night after dinner and missed a lot of discussion... 🙁

Funny, I haven't received one PM about it and I have had it that way for almost a month.

I've been sending all of mine to your dog, but he's really bad about responding

Yeah, she gets a lot of fan mail, its hard for her to get around to it all...I will let her secretary know you have a complaint

this is the second time you've posted this in a manner which implies that it's contributing something to the conversation.

but it isn't.

:wtf:

morning all. hamster on a piano song stuck in my head and very much permeated my dreams...

Have you scrolled down the PreAllo board? It's everywhere. 😕

I know right. What a tool.

*dances and sings* Hampster on a piannnnnno!

Off to study more. Cranial nerve time!:lame:

I have a GREAT mnemonic for this!! (I am sure you already have one, though). Mine is kinda dirty, so I can't post it here...but PM me if interested!! I haven't forgotten them since I learned this phrase 😛

Giada de Laurentiis, is that the woman that always wears like a really bright-ish shirt with a little bit of skin and talks really slowly like she's trying to make the showreally sensual? she's hot

so i'm dating this girl, and i'm falling for her pretty fast, and i think she's amazing. but we're hesitant to take it anywhere because i'm leaving for med school.

sometimes i think god likes playing cruel jokes on me every once in a while.

Yuck. That sounds complicated.

I just named all 53 capitals of Africa. Woot.

That seems to happen to people all the time. It's happened to a couple of my senior friends here as well, and I've seen both decisions made. Love conquers all vs. I'm off to med school, forget this.

yea i've seen both sides too.

i think i would be the "i'm off to med school, trick" type

To throw in my 2 cents, my main skepticism for people who try to apply after two years is that I wonder when exactly they decided they wanted to go into medicine.

For example, someone could say something like "well, in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years, I had this great experience doing ____," but then my question to them is "ok, then why were you taking all your prereqs before that, then?" It just seems to me like more often than not, people's clinical experiences are used to retroactively justify their decision to go into medicine, rather than causing their decision to go into medicine.

And maybe some people come into college knowing for sure that they want to go into medicine, but that goes along with what brooklyn was talking about in that for the most part, these people sort of made that decision without really giving themselves a chance to explore different fields.

i agree, but hey, thats the system. medicine, unlike most other jobs, requires you to prove your desire to go into it.

I know, right? 😡

Here's my biggest issue with climate change deniers: what harm is done if we're wrong and we aren't causing global warming? OH NO - fewer emissions, lower atm. CO2 concentrations, and cleaner air to breathe! Whatever shall we do?? :scared:

The answer's pretty easy, though. It's all about the...

BTW, I named all 195 world capitals in my last class! Very proud of myself. If only I could be that enthusiastic about school.

I'm beyond impressed. You > hamster on a piano. (Kind of). But you actually knew the capital of Seychelles!? San Marino?! Sao Tome and Principe!? Equatorial Guinea? Marshall Islands!? My hat off to you, sir.

good job

now have u been doing your push ups? :eyebrow:

Not the last two days: concert and pain from concert. I should resume today.

Victoria, San Marino, Sao Tome, Malabo, Majuro. 👍

10 days till I'm out of Jamaica, back home with my family, enjoying seasonal temperature fluctuations and constant running water! :biglove:

EXACTLY the reason I chose to be single this year...I broke up with a long term bf in November and decided it was best not to start anything until I am settled in my new home. It sucks being alone, but I know it's for the best and much less complicated. Sorry jolt, I feel for you, these decisions are rough and unfortunately there never is a "right" answer 🙁

im working on a new theory

med schools = the communist party

for example, while many go to med school for ulterior motives, and the schools know that too, everyone nevertheless have to prove his passion for and loyalty to the profession. many, of course, end up sticking to their noble beliefs for their lives, but they are really just pawns of the upper echelon, which is dominated by power hungry rich people.

still working on other similarities, but this application process sure reminds me a lot of my mom's application to join the chinese communist party back in the days.

Story time! 😱

I've read that article, it's very interesting. 👍

There's nothing inherently Christian about this country... theocracies fail every single time, why go down that road?

yet they keep popping up....i think its just human nature. people will always have religion, religious leaders will always have a great deal of power, and those who desire power will always seek to exploit that fact.

Story time! 😱

haha, it was an unsuccessful venture after going through a lot of hoops. turns out she had a relative who lived in taiwan whom she didnt even know existed. that was enough to disqualify her back in those days.

So I forgot to have coffee this morning... And while I am tired, I am kinda surprised that I'm not having withdrawals.

How's everyone doing today?
