Damn you Jet Blue... Paid like 400 dollars for my flight from Kingston to JFK. I know it's not one of their original 10 destinations, but I still feel spurned and taken advantage of!
 
Ooh in good news, I got my Tax Refund on Friday! $1500!!! I owe New York state like $300 dollars because my Fulbright stipend is taxable and didn't have taxes withheld...sucks..but I'm still up 1200! :clap:
 
The IRS is on my poop list right now. I submitted over a month ago and apparently my forms ended up in the 'errors' department. They can't tell me why, but said it doesn't seem like anything that was my fault. So I have to wait another month while they figure out what they did wrong.

I did a research internship at the UCI Med Center.....they new hospital is NIIIIIIIIIIICE!

I got a total of like 30 bucks back.

Meh...Fulbright grant does not a 4.0 make. It just ended up being the topic of conversation for every one of my interviews and something for them to possibly fondly remember while they were voting no on me post-interview.

I am not a Cali resident....no amount of connections is going to get me a leg up (I have connections as UCSD....2 dept chairs at the Med School and they tried to pull some weight for me 🙁 )

nice, just got my Lima to Cuzco round trip tix for $96 inc fees and tax.

that makes it $365 total from JFK - Lima, Lima - Cuzco. Now gotta get up to Macchu Picchu

it does seem ridiculous, especially if we expect a politician to cast votes that reflect their values and beliefs. this guy is a repub from bakersfield. very very conservative area in CA. i could see how he had to cast the votes to stay in office in that area. i just couldnt see living a professional life that is in such opposition to my personal life.

Yeah, I was curious so I looked it up in the MCAT forum -- apparently AAMC delayed in releasing scores from the June testing day and people were going nuts. There were 230 people viewing the thread at one point :laugh:
 
Damn that Duke thread is going nuts. I got nervous checking my email and I didn't even apply there!
