Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It appears that I did not get into Emory.
Figures...me and my ridiculous remarks about alcohol would get me rejected.

Sorry to hear that! But no rejection mail yet right? Maybe you should call and ask to confirm? Heck, why not, what do you have to lose?

whoops, sorry, looks like he did not die thankfully

Eh, I think if I commit suicide like that I'd rather die than be totally disabled from the fall.

Haha, not what I meant. I just hate giving up 'till the last glimmer hope is absolutely positively gone, so surely I'm not giving up on you(for you?) yet!

hst = researchy, joint with MIT, 30 students

NP = PBL, 135 students

Going there?

most likely, but i scheduled 2 other revisits (vandy and mayo) because those are the only others i'm also serious about. anything can happen. i have a friend who turned down Harvard for UW and another who turned it down for Vandy....so we'll see what is up at all the schools.

Ooh, we can hang at the Vandy revisit!!! I'm excited. 😀

Supersize me, please.
A New Jersey woman who already weighs a whopping 600 pounds is on a mission to double her girth in a bid to become the world's fattest woman.
Donna Simpson, 42, said she has her sights on reaching the 1,000-pound mark over the next two years.

"My favorite food is sushi, but unlike others I can sit and eat 70 big pieces of sushi in one go," she told London's Daily Mail in an interview published today. "I do love cakes and sweet things, doughnuts are my favorite."
Simpson insists she is healthy, even though she can't walk and has to move around with the help of a motorized scooter.
Simpson, who wears XXXXXXXL dresses, said she gobbles up lots of fast food like hamburgers and french fries. She also said she moves as little as possible each day in order to keep on the pounds.
To reach her goal, Simpson said she's been eating up to 12,000 calories a day -- although the average woman should only consume about 2,000.
To pay for her gigantic $750-a-week food bill, Simpson runs a Web site where men pay her to watch her eat.
"I love eating and people love watching me eat,' she told the British newspaper. "It makes people happy, and I'm not harming anyone."
Simpson already holds the Guinness World Record as the world's fattest mother, when she gave birth in 2007 to her daughter Jacqueline.
"I'd love to be 1,000 pounds," said Simpson. "It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down."
Simpson said her boyfriend Philippe, 49, has encouraged her to eat more -- even though he only weighs 150 pounds.
"I think he'd like it if I was bigger," she added. "He's a real belly man, and completely supports me."

Ick.

Congrats Jolt!!!

Wow, how dick.

One of my fb friends: "There are taller buildings on campus to jump off of if you're trying to kill yourself. Just saying."

That is horrible. Who would say something like that?

she's a pornographer. a food pornographer.

reminds me of Pirates of the Carribean where the pirate watches Kiera Knightly eat...ewwwwwww

get big or die trying

haha, I remember kids saying that all the time in high school.

That 1000 pound lady story is absurd. I'm most disturbed by the people who pay to watch her eat....

The ridiculous thing is that the story is only going to get her more publicity. OK, done talking about that, it's kind of making me angry. 😀

Hey guys... I have a question for you... What do you all think about a Special Masters Program? And what all schools offer it? I'm trying to come up with some possible Plan B's in case I don't get in this year, and this is something I was looking at.

that woman = 😕😕😕😕😕😕😕 x10000000

if your gpa is in the <3.4 range and everything else is on order (meaning proper ecs, shadowing, 30+ mcat, etc etc...Id do an smp. Smp are really only for those whose GPA is the only red flag on the app. If the gpa is getting closer to the 3.6+ range, i dont think its a good investment as there would be easier cheaper ways at fixing your app. They are very expensive like 40k or so and theres really no aid for them. So you are paying one extra year of med school basically.
