Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
my favorite lebron dunk was when delonte threw it like 30 feet behind the basket, got fouled, but lebron somehow still went up and got it and put it up for the reverse

Mine's gotta be the "no regard for human life" one.... made KG look like a giant green turd

+1, especially the belts messing with form. Unless you're some kind of power lifter, it will be hard to injure yourself if you use correct form at all times and don't "cheat" to lift heavier than you really can.

I generally agree with this until you get upwards of about 4 plates with either deadlifts/squats, at that point I think the belt helps protect your lower back from herniation. I don't generally lift much more than 3 plates these days though, it's really bad for your knees 🙁

Yeah man, 3-4 plates will definitely have you thinking about using a belt.

I'll put it this way:

# of people using lifting belts >> # of people using 3-4 plates lol

you would... lol
You have to admit that that thread is annoying and definitely got stupid really fast... hence it needed to be derailed and I took it upon myself as SDN's self-proclaimed Batman/"Cartman Coon" to do what the police (mods) want to do, but can't because of the lawwwws.

:ninja:

I am so tired of coughing and sounding like Lindsay Lohan
This cold is resilient.
Damnit.

:hello: good morning. i am waiting for financial aid from one school in particular...very nervous. hopefully they don't take me for all i'm worth and then some.

lol, I'm surprised anyone even read that thread. I looked at it once and diagnosed it tl;dr

that's cuz your dr skillz are amazing! we could only hope to be like the yoda...

this is also the handgun thread. epic quotes and paragraphs...bleh.

Just "awkward turtled" the "PS tirade" thread that someone decided to bump after we all thought it was finally dead.

i love how this is now a verb.

someone responded by quoting AT - "how does this apply?" LOL, exactly...

hey elijah - are waiting on UCD?
yah🙂. I think me and you are in pretty similar situations. Right now im going to UCD most likely (wish fin aid would get here!) barring coming off the WL at UCLA. I think same for you except replace UCLA with UCSD?

my fin aid packages from OOS schools put me anywhere from 200k-300k in debt....even if i got all loans at UCD i think its about 200-250k for 4 years...so no real reason for me to go out of state when i dont want to really.

Yeah exactly! LOVED UCSD, would go there in a heartbeat. UCD was cool and it has a lot to offer. I just absolutely know I would be completely and utterly content at UCSD - curriculum, faculty, students, location, some family in area. Its got the entire package. We shall see...unfortunately w/ tuition hikes I am also seriously considering some OOS options.

EDIT: My OOS packages haven't been too horrible. At this point 50K may look like tons more but in the end, whats 50K for guaranteed happiness for 4 years. Been miserable in undergrad, don't want to venture down that road again.

Crossing my fingers for you RD :xf:; but after hearing back from my dream school's financial aid office... I've lost all faith in the finaid process 😀

Ignore me though; I'm just a rain cloud today

hopefully we both end up at LA and SD then 🙂. What OOS places are you considering? The only one i was considering was UW madison and their fin aid just made me feel like sentinel lol. your school gave me like nothing drizz whats with that!😛

It's kind of annoying how VCU has all their orientation stuff together and LSU doesn't. Once that stuff is up, it makes it easier to see yourself at a school. I really want these financial aid things to come in.

We will keep fingers and toes :xf:. Seriously considering Pitt, OHSU, UVA, and BU.

This worries me as well.

:xf: for you at UCSD!

Did you get crappy financial aid because you were working this year? So would that potentially change in the coming years since you won't have a full-time job?

thnx blob! aren't you thinking of ucsd as well?

fin aid can dramatically change if you were working before school and obviously stop during school (unless you saved up a bajillion dollars).

Hey guys,

Come join me at BU RD! 🙂 Fantastic school in a fantastic place. Pitt is Pitt but the location is 😛. Anyway just throwing in my appreciation for Bean town.

Yea I was still working part time from the job I had before I did the post-bacc program @ columbia. It was a pretty well paying job too, so my part time pay was nothing to sneeze at (then again, all of that money was going to columbia, so it's not like I have major savings).

but yea, my EFC from FAFSA was like 18K. I was like... wth? I'm supposed to pull that out from where now?!

These guys need better mathematicians. Ksmi - get on it !

I'm just hoping I'll get some aid next year... but my employment for the first 1/2 of this year will show up on next year's taxes - so maybe not. I guess I can only realistically hope for financial aid in MS3. Ugh.

BTW - love the rain cloud picture RD

Hah if I had a bajillion $s in savings, I'd definitely start up a merit based scholarship fund thing.

Either that or give some to the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation.

some one should sponsor us like christian people who sponsor poor kids in 3rd world countries.

ok ok...not the same thing.

I feel ridiculous that someone posting a Baylor acceptance has made me kind of sad. This is just dumb, I need to start moving forward with my life and just waiting around for something that won't happen - but it's hard.

You and me both, except for Pritzker. I just keep :xf: and keepin' the faith.

🙁 I definitely understand where you're coming from, and I don't think it's ridiculous to feel that way at all.

Def not dumb - completely understand where you are coming from. It's times like this that I'm convinced there's very little difference between med school app process... and dating

Moving forward it tough

dude, I felt the same thing every time someone posted a Vanderbilt or Pittsburgh acceptance. don't feel dumb about it.

you're very welcome, now you will see this in your mind next time you feel like a rain cloud.

the EFC from fafsa was ridic - just b/c i earn a paycheck doesn't mean i have 1/3 of it to give you.

I feel ridiculous that someone posting a Baylor acceptance has made me kind of sad. This is just dumb, I need to start moving forward with my life and just waiting around for something that won't happen - but it's hard.

its not ridic to feel that way. i felt totally upset when ppl posted interviews/acceptances at a school i loved. all in due time you will move on. i feel like waitlists and rejections deserve grieving time.

Thought this was an appropriate time, to everyone here:

haha definitely needed that.

Although I'm thinking the cat is actually slapping the dog  definitely in glass half empty mode
Yeah man. It's tell you to cheer the hell up or I'll smack you around. :meanie:
