before the AMCAS pilot program, Pre-health committees would send all your letters at once through virtual evals. That's why some ppl applied to more schools on the primary than they eventually filled out.

you will waste a lot of money in this process and probably during residency match as well.
 
i know that if i submit a primary application for a school i will go ahead and submit a secondary..the list of schools will depend on mcat..but i know certain schools i will apply for regardless of the score..i cant believe its so close!!
 
Shoot, maybe 35 schools is pushing it, with full course load this fall. I'm so scared though.
 
i feel like my PS is horrible..hopefully it will come aorund in the nxt few days =(

i also got all my recs in today =)

im really annoyed at one of my schools..i sent them a transcript request like 3 weeks ago almost..and it says they have processed the request but amcas still hasnt gotten it..

ah well...i will wait until wednesday and inquire..

very true. that is why i decided to cut out Georgetown and George Washington b/c their secondaries are like $100+.

thanks. i am ready to submit my application but somehow feels like it's not good enough.

this is just an aside but the TMDSAS is a pain. ps has to be 5000 not 5300 characters. i do not know what to cut out. plus we have to do an optional essay. it says optional but these days it's more like mandatory.

2. i got SDNer's read my ps already but not sure if they can cut it down. if i cut something out, it will ruin my essay.

Don't worry about applying to 30, just start filling out secondaries now. Use the prompts from last year. I've already written essays for about 10/27 schools. I expect a few to change, but the work I do now will save me lots of time later when I'm trying to write my thesis.

For my TMDSAS application, I just cut out one entire paragraph... Last year it was even worse since they had a weird textbox that you had to fit it in, and it was only 80 characters per line or something stupid like that...

Oh and the essays are definitely not optional. For the essay, talk about your qualities and this way you can reuse this essay for other secondaries also.

Yah, when it comes time for interview, there is no way to hide it barring a Michael Jackson treatment... I just put I was Indian-American, but I did not emphasize my Indianness...

No, highschool transcripts are not required.

So I have actually formally introduced myself to this thread pages ago and I admit it... I haven't been keeping up (shame on me, I know).

But I read the last page or so and this is all I have to say:

I'm applying to 46 schools
I hate my PS and I don't want to ever look at it again but I don't think it's done
I'm sooooo excited to go suit shopping but I've decided not to go til Aug
I feel like this is the calm before the storm (bc in july my classes, my internship, and volunteering all start... and hopefully secondaries too)

And with that I end, hoping to have won some sort of place in your hearts and this thread... please accept me as one of your own 😀
