Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Whoa now, I'm just repeating some relevant information that I've learned in class. oakland is just doing his rambling thing.

WOW we are less than 2000 posts away from 100k. That is pretty intense

I'm just repeating pertinent information learned on the streets and from experiences in my life. Anyone can learn punnet squares in a classroom, very few people can learn how to scale a balcony inebriated.

I don't know if we will even last till second week of May, it all depends on how active we are. Probably second week of May though.

LOL at that picture of minny. but yea, why are u still up

The sun has come up again...and I still haven't gone to bed. :scared:

What is going on!? I'm so disoriented right now. I really have turned nocturnal.

This feels awkward. I should not be seeing the morning crew.

my parents both have been extremely supportive on both side of my decisions even though they are completely different things. i was hoping they would be one sided so i could either blame them one day for debt or unhappiness

aw i think that's a good thing though. i've really started to appreciate that about my parents-they're totally fine with whatever i do and don't care about prestige, etc. they're completely ok with whatever school i go to, were fine with me going DO when i thought i had to, and even convinced me not to go to an ivy for undergrad because they knew i didn't like it as much but felt like i "should" go there over the school i loved. so did you say you made a decision??

elijah-yay for money!!! i'm so happy for you!😀

yea, i think i'm going mstp. as of right now i'm happy with it. but i haven't gone to bed yet in like 30 hours, i usually change my mind then

should be an open spot in miami come 15th-17th.

So no Miami for you? I thought you were pretty set on it?

yea, i honestly expected some sort of aid and after reflection, without aid, its just not gonna happen because there's a good chance i could end up doing research (and can't really do research with the burden of debt)

Ohhh... Well, have you tried talking to them about that? Couldn't hurt to try, could it?

ah i see. that makes sense.

i think i will wait til next summer to finalize purchasing a condo.

i think there was a rush of homebuyers trying to get in on the 1st time credit, which gives you until end of july to close. markets probably gonna have a delayed surge for a bit before going down (hopefully). get a 2br downtown condo, hope for gas prices to increase over the next 7-8 years (so ppl flock in). rent out room, so i can deduct my HOA fees (cuz you can't for yourself) and my furniture

I don't have any IRAs. I've delayed making any retirement accounts so I have all my money available while I'm in school. Roth IRAs are sweet though.

yea its sick. i calculated the compound interest. if i dont make 120k in the next 13-16 years (or if i'm married, 170k), it comes out to 125k ish after tax on earnings (80k contribution)

lol, if you make less than 27.5k adjusted gross income (which i would be, at least the 1st year of mstp), any contribution (roth ira included) is also tax deductible/credit eligible for $1000 annually and the first $2000 contribution gets 50% credit = + $1000

i'm gonna deduct the **** out of life next few years

i actually deducted all my interview expenses this year for pretty good gains, since i worked in a lab doing research and traveling to medical and graduate schools would involve improving my career in that field

That's a sweet deal.

i heard really good things about the asus, i'll be going for a netbook/desktop combo too

you might want to wait til mid summer to purchase one though, so they can come down in price a bit/improve specs for the same range of $

glad you heard good things about it! ya i read on amazon that you derfinitely need to upgrade to windows 7 premium and add 1 gb ram to the current model. maybe i'll take your advice and wait to see if they come out with an upgraded one by the time i need it. there's really no reason i have to buy it now, only that i wanted to play with it😛

I think as long as you don't try to pay the deposit with two cent stamps (that'd be a lot of stamps), you'll be fine. But that'd be one funny looking envelope.
