is anyone following the news on supreme court nominations?

how so? i have heard comments of lack of arguing in a court room experience, the fact that she is only 50, not tons of law article pubs.

she is going to get grilled during the senate questioning. talk about interview prep.

Or even more.... When I was in Beijing, the vendor thought I was Chinese because I had asked how much the item was in Chinese (the only line I knew). So, she gave me the real price, which was 100 yuan, while the foreigner price was 500 yuan. Then she found out I wasn't...teehee.

yeah, those are legit concerns and they will come up in the hearing, especially the lack of experience.

the nomination for life does have huge repercussions for the court and american constitutional law, especially since she is so young and could have 30-40 years on the court. OTOH, i can see why. the stability of personnel is nice and the case precedents allow for stable laws. it would stink if certain laws flip-flopped every 5 years, for example, if the justices had term limits.
