i'm so glad this med school stuff is put to rest

india in june
i'm starting to line up concerts and small trips for july

why?

Sorry I'm indian, and I have a difficult time understanding why people want to visit india. Then again, since I kinda grew up there for a while, I've got a certain... slanted opinion of the place that other people probably don't have

but me and my dad are going to take a vaca to visit 2 of his college friends in bangalore and hyderabad which will be a blast

when i was a kid this trip was a chore but now I really wanna go back and learn about the place I grew up in and become more cultured 😳

how long did you live in India? me 6 yrs

its funny, now that we know Asher is gay, we know why he needs 2 condoms. one for him, one for his partner

Congrats to everyone on your final decisions! So exciting! 😀

8 days left in Europe, then it's back to the real world. :scared:

winter is so depressing, i hate winter coats

why am i still in this state again?

oooh ok that makes sense. I was there for ~3 years (Can't remember anymore) I mostly grew up in Saudi Arabia (~11 years) and I've been in/around NYC for the last 13.

This thread seems to have been moving at a glacial pace lately.

Naps are awesome. They are even more awesome when you know you don't have anything important to get done when you wake up.

Ahhh the life of an almost-college graduate.

👍 Definitely an awesome place to be

what are you getting?

Dell.

Either an Inspiron or Studio.

My issue is that the Studio (which I want more) has all the stuff I want but in a 15.6" screen. That's too big to fit in my awesome Columbia backpack. 👎 I would much prefer a 14" screen but that one doesn't have all the specs I want and if I were to upgrade, it would cost almost $200 more. Decisions. Y'all can help me. 😀

not at all, and i'm totally hamhanded. one thing i've noticed when i'm typing furiously away is that my palm sometimes touches the touchpad putting the mouse cursor in a random spot, but happens relatively infrequently and if i cared enough i would just adjust the pad sensitivity. most netbooks these days ship with a 90% or 100% full sized keyboard

edit: just to add to this thought, if you're even remotely interested in computers, it's REALLY easy to upgrade desktops cheaply as you go, should you find your needs changing. a laptop? you can change the RAM, and that's about it. a good desktop + netbook combo costs less and performs better than a similarly priced laptop, guaranteed.

edit2: since this is a topic that i like very much 😛 - i bought my current desktop 3 years ago for ~1700 bucks, where a similarly spec'd near-top-of-the-line laptop would have been ~2500, maybe more. it's still super fast, but if i wanted to, i can bring this machine up to the current top-of-the-line specs by walkign down to the nearest computer store, picking up a brand new, top intelcore processor for ~300 bucks and swapping it out.

i asked this question last night but maybe you would know better

do you find it difficult to type on a netbook? i feel like i like the desktop + netbook combo in theory, but i could see myself getting frustrated with the netbook easily

i should get mine on monday, i will let you know.

i think the keyboard is nearly full sized though, but i have a 11.6'' now

congrats lstone!!!!!😀

and congrats to everyone else who made final decisions and withdrew from places!!

what stuff do you guys use to keep all your documents synced between your netbook and your desktop?

btw, thanks for answering all my random netbook questions.

thumbdrive =P i'm too cheap and too lazy to investigate software options. bookmarks are synced using xmarks (if you use firefox)

i need very few documents to be constant updated on both machines, though. every week or so i bring my class notes i take on the netbook to my pc, but that's the extent of it.

Computers: I use them.

That's about all I know about the topic.
