Too bad I missed both games yesterday. At least I will see the Germany-Spain game Wednesday and the World Cup Finals on the 11th. I'm okay with missing the other semi and the 3rd place game.

Next 2 weeks for me are work with soccer watching on my 2 days off.

moving into med school early is not bad (esp if you have established activities and you are oos), you get to know a lot of peoples

Luckily all I'm doing is sitting in a booth selling tickets - it could be worse. I could be selling food or cleaning theaters. 👎

4th of July wasn't as bad as I thought. Hopefully tomorrow won't be too horrible, even though everybody still has the day off. :bang:

I need to get my freaking immunization stuff done like 2 weeks ago!!! :scared:

Well, not really, but I'm working almost every day until it's due and I still don't even have ANYTHING done! I need to call LSU and hopefully they can email me my records that they still have. :xf: Then I need to get a physical, TB test and 2 titers.

Yikes!!! I'm feeling a little :scared: myself. Somehow, we're supposed to have tuition paid by orientation, but how is that possible if we haven't even gotten our loans yet? Furthermore, we're supposed to buy books and order supplies, all by orientation and all of which will probably total into the thousands, and the money I use on this will be loan money. I'm still working on figuring this out. And also, I've just decided that I'm moving in less than a week, so I have very little time to get everything done that I have to before I move! :scared:

Wow, sounds like you're stressed out as well.

That seems kind of ridiculous to pay for all that stuff without loans, when that is what loans are supposed to cover. I'm not buying anything until after school starts (if they let me).

I just need to make sure I have time to get this immunization stuff done. It really crept up on me and now I don't have much time to get it done, especially when this kind of stuff always takes longer than necessary.

We'll manage somehow. Bedtime. 😴
 
Weird. Maybe Loyola just has really low immunization standards or IL has ridiculous secondary school reqs for immunizations because I'm immune across the board and I didn't need to get any immunizations. :shrug:

Well, if it helps - you can def procrastinate on the book purchases. Always seems to be a good idea to wait till you get there to sort that out.

I've actually got the reverse issue w/ my tuition. I moved around some of my finances and I think (with a little help w/ my parents) I might be able to pull off the first yr w/o loans... maybe. That's assuming my parents can actually come through. So I'm on this odd balancing situation - trying to delay the loan process till my parents can figure out their finances... but not delaying it so much that I shoot myself in the foot about getting the loan money in time incase my parents can't come through.

Same. I only needed the tb test and 1 titer.
 
hey everyone! i've been mia for quite a while, but i'm back in my new apartment for good now (as of last night). went to MN, mom had surgery but is good now, got engaged (!!... and met too, right? congrats!!), went to hawaii, installed my internet this morning.. it's all good now! and I start my rotation tomorrow, eep!!! also have to pick a pcp by tomorrow for my new health insurance. anyone know how to pick a good doctor in a new state without meeting them? feels kinda odd..

starting a summer rotation is pretty lax, you just get to meet more people
