Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Yeah, I don't really like watching Federer play. He is sort of boring.

Agassi is one classy dude. I loved watching him play.
I love watching him play, what are you talking about!??! Yeah, maybe he doesn't have the most emotion out there (it's really awkward when he tries to celebrate randomly), but he comes up with the craziest shots that no one else would think of. Who else hits a drop shot as a service return?! He's amazing to watch.

Nadal will not have as good of a career as Federer (but who will?) but I think he will be the better player next year and on. Roger is just too old, 27 in tennis is like 75 in real life
I think they'll fight it out for a year or two, then yeah, nadal will reign for a while. He's already almost there.

nadal federer matches are classic though. i really hoped he would get a test at the french open but eh!

Yeah, I was glad when UVA beat Ole Piss. Yall have a good team, but we're better.

In other news, I'm verified!!! And my overall GPA went up by .01, I guess they round, unlike LSU.

Woot!

Jealous. I still don't feel like my essay is good enough. Besides my letters are probably nowhere near done, so I can't be complete anyway. Hmph.

Just got home from the doctor. My fever was only 99.5 when I got there. I hate that. I promise I wasn't lying about how high it was! And then it was 97.5 when I got home. I don't have strep or mono. I got a cortisone shot and lots of drugs to take. Hopefully I'll feel better.

whoa, ksmi jealous of me?!?! Oh my, what the world has come to...😀

but that essay did take me quite a bit of time to finalize. just wanted to be as perfect as possible bc the rest of my app surely isn't lol

get well soon 🙂

Well eff. I have a fever. Boo.

Weren't you just sick? Good lord, woman. You need to eat healthier, sleep more, or stay away from the diseased guys you've been dating... 😛

how do medical schools feel about you completing and submitting a secondary only an hour or two after receiving it?

I'm going to guess they would be impressed, assuming they even notice. I think they start to notice when it takes you >2 weeks to submit.

yeah, fed's 27. how many years left? three maybe four in his prime. Unless he's as good as agassi when he's old. now that would be incredible. Congrats Roger!

I don't know about this. I think the tennis prime ends between 35-37 for the good players.

I don't mind watching Federer. But I agree, Agassi was the man.

Did you take Tylenol this morning before you went?

Hmmm, sounds like the Bayou docs are prescribing antibiotics for viral infections again... Tsk tsk...

I just submitted one of mine so def don't have to wait until July 1 but I guess many schools won't do anything (tell you you're complete) until early July.... that's my guess anyway

Congrats!

I wish I knew more people that played tennis... I might join-up another league this summer. I played with a buddy of mine the other day and I thought he was going to throw his racket at me... Needless to say, he ended up throwing it at the fence and vowed to never play tennis with me again... 🙁

I just want to find one or two people that are decent players that like to play 2 or 3 times a week... Is that too much to ask for?

Agassi retired at 36, and they had been wondering for years if he'd be able to keep coming back. Most players don't play after like 32. I'm sure fed will want to be the next agassi and play until his back breaks.

No. That's what's so weird about it. I'm still feeling really woozy. Low bp. bleh

Hmmm, I think it could also be just the fact that you were resting under a blanket (insulation) before you woke-up and took your temp. The insulation allows your body to overheat and fight the infection. I'm guessing that's the reason for the 4 degree fluctuation in temp over a few hours.

Yeah, I'm with you on the low blood pressure. I am naturally bradycardic, with a resting heart rate of ~45, while my bp is usually normal. But with my size and naturally low resting heart rate when I stand up too quickly I can get pretty dizzy at times. I once took a spill into the bathtub taking out the curtain and rod, waking up half a minute later in a complete stupor... ha ha.

Hmm, I didn't realize tennis players retired so early. I always thought Agassi retired in his early 40's. He looks old to me.

What's this talk earlier about Nadal someday passing Federer? That's a big negative. Federer is, and for a very long time will be, the greatest ever. I think he's still got 4 or 5 majors left to win. Call me crazy, but the guy can clearly still play. . . And why is 27 considered past someone's prime in tennis? I mean, in basketball and football, that's probably the peak of most careers, and in golf, they don't get there til later than that. Weird

well, they start playing tennis (professionally) at the age of 16-17. Same thing with soccer and swimming, I believe, and those have pretty short careers also.

Whats crazy is that the average LIFE expectancy of a NFL player is 55 years old. crazy

Proof + that roids (and w/e else people consider PE now days) do kill?😛. I seriously wonder if they even question what they take. Or just go with w/e trainer says works.

Yeah, the NFL player life expectancy sucks.

Ha ha. I don't agree. While I don't use steroids I don't see the harm in cycling them from time to time. I think you would be hard pressed to come up with any physiological evidence that proper cycling of steroids is in fact a detriment to overall health and well being. On the contrary there is plenty of evidence to support numerous health and life expectancy benefits from steroids when properly used. Just my 2 cents though.

The problem comes from psychological dependency and overuse/abuse. 😉

Food consumption has, however, been shown to reduce life expectancy because you increase the rate of oxidative metabolism, and unfortunately Oxygen isn't all that great for us when it's broken down into free radicals... Now look at groups of people who eat tremendous amounts and compare their life expectancies (good places to look would be NFL players and Sumo wrestlers, professional body builders-natural or otherwise).

Suureee you dont, you just happen to defend their use.... 😉. Your rant made me think of ochem again -_-...thanks alot oc😡. Seriously though do you think many nfl players use them "properly" as you would like to say? I doubt it. They just go nuts on the stuff. not to mention some of these guys go to like the dominican and **** taking in who knows what...im no roid expert but i cant imagine they all use them "properly." Not to mention many use a cocktail of all types of stuff...i cant imagine that would be considered proper cycling?

Ha ha. Didn't mean to scar you with the resurfacing of your Organic... 🙄

I would completely agree. My point was to simply say that it is not the steroid use itself, but rather the misuse of steroids that leads to problems. It's like anything else in society, too much of a good thing is rarely if ever a better thing (yep, sex is included in this one as well 😱).

lol i learned that one the hard way 🙁🙁🙁

I took my temperature again after I had been up for awhile (like an hour or so) and it was still that high. It's just so weird that it dropped that much with in an hour and a half ish.

I took my bp earlier and it was 103/49. So low. I decided not to move after that because I'd probably pass out if I stood up. My mom just got home and forced me to drink a lot of water to get my bp back up. I don't think it helped much. I still feel woozy. Whatever, I'll eventually get better.

does anyone remember on which page of this thread ksmi posted her secondary spreadsheet? I want to use it for my secondaries

Haha, you could always ask me to post it again. 🙂

I added a few more things to it. The interview and acceptance rates are calculated from a spreadsheet I found on here (the one in parentheses is the acceptance rate of interviewed people), and the dates were the first ones listed on the 2008-2009 threads.

AMCAS finally acknowledges my LORs. Excellent.

Hope you're well, Ksmi. Don't want shorty to be sick.😀
