on an unrelated note, my BP has been really high for like 2 weeks but I dont have health insurance... what should I do? lol

eat less salt b/c high BP is a result of high sodium intake.

I just applied for health insurance.. I'll look into the free clinic thing.. you'd think there would be one in Orlando

Ok, I'm cool with a lot, but I don't think we can disseminate much advice other than take your ass to the doctor. You're probably just stressed, but we can't say.

Not always. There could be hundreds of other underlying reasons for elevated BP. I say if it's something that worries him he should go see a doc.

Yeah, I'm with you. I don't eliminate salt completely but I have a very low sodium diet. Well, until I get around popcorn and peanuts, then all bets are off.
 
I was more asking advice about seeing a doc w/o insurance, not really the BP, which is why i posted

It's not that expensive for a basic check-up. But you should just google free clinic Orlando, FL. You'll get a number of hits I'm sure.
 
yeah i found one actually open tonight. I lucked out. I would go to an urgent care place, but it's $173 to see a doc

Good lord, man! That is crazy expensive. You could set up an appt for a reg primary care doc for a lot less than that.

or you could just not go period...the free clinics are sometimes scary, sometimes not. Theres usually a urgent care somewhere around that is open for poor people, i remember one in my hometown where the doc would only charge us 20 bucks per visit, and if we needed pills she had like 12939109321 sample packs that she would give us like a 2 weeks supply of if we needed. Personally i just havnt been to a doc in like 12 years cause of no insurance, lets just hope im not dieing :laugh:.

It takes some work though finding ones that are not super scary and ones that are helpful + cheap.

I just spent a good chunk of time calling around town and asking about the various free clinics available. I found one that seems pretty legit, I am going to go at 5 and find out. Dont really have a choice otherwise
 
can't you just go into the ER and not pay your bill? bills bills bills, automobills

lol no u cant...i tried this and got owned for 5k...had to take out a student loan to cover it. The most that can happen is they can reduce your bill if they want to be nice/if you cry enough about it. mine was reduced from like 15k to 5k.

I have a neuro final in an hr...its not looking good 🙁

yeah my credit sucks enough as it is. my buddy just got hit with a 48k bill from the hospital because his insurance dropped him the day before he went - ouch.
 
could you enroll for summer classes (audit or something) and show the insurance company that you are a student to get back on your parents coverage.

i went the entire year without insurance either. they say healthcare is the number cause of bankruptcy in this country (im sure there's variables to that), but yea its kinda scary.

lol we dont but the other crazies around here do. I stopped posting in any thread but this basically 🙂. Too much neurotisicm going on around here with apps.

And im finally done with spring quarter.!!!!!! And i can now officially say, my whole upward trend argument is now done for ahha....I ****ing bombed all my classes this quarter, thank god med schools wont see it. I think I will end up with 2B 2 B- and 1A this quarter. And the 1 A is a class everyone gets an A in as its research credits :laugh:. That neuro final just raped me. It probably didnt help I didnt study, a lot of the test was based on my profs esoteric research, i hate when stupid phds do that. No one gives a **** about your research that means nothing...😡


Are you taking summer class tiedy? Sadly im forced to for financial aid, but man why does it have to start soo soon🙁

I think she would be more akin to a Caribbean school. They don't care who you are or what you have done as long as you can get it up long enough to foot the bill. 😉

i could but it would take 60 days to get back on the plan. It's faster for me to just get my own coverage. I ended up going to the free clinic, but there were too many people there today so they gave me an appt. for Thursday.
