one of my best friends who applied for the previous cycle (ie myuu's class) just found out this past weekend she got rejected from both schools she was interviewed at 🙁

i dont know. she was waitlisted, but finally got the actual rejection notice. i know from the previous cycle some of my friends got pulled off the lists in late may. never heard of any acceptances in june though.

I'm a guy, but if that happened to me, I would seriously break down and cry.
 
i dont think i'd cry per se, but i'd probably just lay in bed for a couple days, not eating at all, getting up only to release bodily wastes.

well that's hardcore dedication. if you are asked during an interview 'what will you do if you don't get in this year' you got a pretty tough answer 😍

im a very rational guy but its just surreal to me sometimes to think that ~20,000 people each spend thousands of dollars each year for naught.

Sometimes, if you stay with a student host, you'll get to hang out with all their medschool friends and partay.👍
 
whoa, i think i just picked a facebook username. weird. remember when facebook didn't even let you put up pictures? and when it would show you how you were linked to some random person you clicked on, like bob : ellen : matt : rachel (where you are bob and rachel is the person you clicked on)? okay time to stop rambling.
 
meh, i just realized most of you are too young to remember facebook in its infancy. yay for being one of the first handful of schools to get it!

People have been accepted off of waitlists a week into school.

For me this would be too stressful. I am going to need a quite night alone to review the school and relax before the big interview day/s.

To each their own though.

not sure about all the other nonsense in here, but im pretty sure this used to be a med school forum.

are any of you guys applying to VT Carilion's new school? if so, do you think their LOR requirements could be any lamer, time-wasting, bureaucratic, money-wasting, another-useless-hoop-to-jump-through garbage? do you think they will waive this requirement for this first application year since it will be almost impossible for me to get in touch with my LOR writers? i guess i will call...

if anyone has any insight about this school and the LOR situation, i would love to hear it.

when i got on FB (late 04 or early 05) it was college students only. but you could post up pictures.
 
yea when I joined facebook (05 I think), it was college restricted and you could only have small profile pictures. I remember people used to friend random people as soon as they got their .edu account. writing on walls used to be the ****.


i deleted my account (like permanently - not deactivated) couple of months ago. after graduating it was just an awkward situation cuz people would ask me for **** or to ask me to visit them and I wasn't around/couldn't afford to go back to NYC anymore. My cousins were getting older and they started to friend me and, you know, I had pics of me that were unprofessional. Then I just stopped checking so I thought I'd just destroy and start over.

their lor requirement is why im not applying there really, theres an admin from that school that posts stuff on there, you might wanna check there or maybe hed be happy to answer some questions...sorry im not more help.

Someone convince me i shouldnt buy an iphone now 🙁. Im getting tempted 🙁

md/phd programs used to make you send LORs separately or fill out a different form. Most of the time, I just emailed them and told them to use the packet.

Thats weird that they are using that system. I think it will keep people from applying there.

I'm going to wait until right before med school starts before I buy a new phone.

So I was at something for my dad tonight and he had me checking the LSU-Arkansas score on my mom's Blackberry. I couldn't find a live feed anywhere so I settled on refreshing the LSU sports forum. But now I'm home and we are winning 9-1 in the bottom of the 8th. I did find this awesome emoticon on that forum though.

I may apply there later if I'm not having any success getting interviews. I need to go read these requirements, hopefully I have them met because I don't feel like going out of my way to apply to another school. Although, I do really like VTC.
