I'm too burned out. Been a hectic summer. I gotta relax this last week before school starts.

its not too too bad. some are reusable. but theres like 6 question per essay

i've done worse w/ procrastination. any secondary that i had to mail, i probably waited at least 2 weeks after i finished the essays to mail them out. mad lazy


the thing about duke essays though, they do make you think. you may find some valid points to relate to the interviewer from ideas in the prompts

definitely. i was having issues with the professional behavior one. then today im hanging around the hospital my mom got admitted to, and the patient next to her starts making HORRID noises. gasps and grunts and animal noises. at first i was like wtf...then i realized he was saying "help me". by the point i realized what he was saying, 3 nurses had passed his room, and not one had stopped to see what was wrong. it pissed me off so much. i stormed off to the nurses station and said someone needed to check up on this guy. they kind of blew me off until they saw i was dead serious. turns out he had filled his urine bag and was pissing himself.

to make matter worse, this guy was legally blind, as i later found out.

prime example of how NOT to behave...

From my experience in the ER, it's always helpful to check on patients that are making strange noises. Especially if you're a volunteer, because it shows initiative, care, and if the patient wants something, you don't necessarily have to do it because a lot of the time you legally can't or shouldn't. If you can help them, everyone wins.
 
its not even that! these f8cking nurses were just chatting and this poor guy was grunting. its just about responsibility and accountability. just because the guy is blind and has no family to speak up for him, they were letting him go to hell! it was just so painful...health care in our country may be the "best" in the world, but its probably one of the most inhuman systems out there.

i guess. then again how much are we going to be able to do? cant save them all. but i guess even helping one and making it more comfortable for that one patient is supposed to be ridic rewarding? cant wait for the buzz 😛

I think we'll see him used at multiple positions and maybe even on special teams (returning punts?). I think he'll be good at where ever they throw him. The downside is I guess he won't be in Madden. Anyone know if you can update rosters?

Ugh, I was supposed to be able to move in at 8 this morning. But no, when I get here, I can't get my key until 9. 😡 So I've carried all my stuff up two flights of stairs and left it on my balcony. At least we have wireless this year so I can be somewhat entertained while I wait 20 more minutes.

I can see how that might be confusing though. I learned all the ins and outs of baseball very young because my brother played forever, and it's got some weird stuff.

Well no body cares for preseason, it's mostly a time for players to warm up for regular season, and winning and losing doesn't matter at all. You were at a baseball game and didn't know what a hit was? 😱 :meanie:

i don't think vick will beat out our kick returners, they are pretty decent. i see him as a potential 3rd down QB

hey now, don't make fun! If the batter hits the ball, but he gets out, he still technically hit it, right? but that doesn't constitute a "hit".

Or, if you connect on a outfielder-fly ball with a batter on 3rd for the sacrifice and the outfielder drops the ball -- you've "hit" the ball, but it's counted as a sacrifice fly and no at-bat. BUT if there's no sacrifice -- like you grounded it into the outfield and the fella misses it -- then it's an at bat, no hit, and it does not count for your on-base average.

this is why I did the throws on track. you just measure how far it went. period. the implements (except discus) make big divots -- not that difficult to figure out. :laugh:

I thought that if it was intended as a sacrifice with fewer than 2 outs in the inning, it was designated as an at-bat and sacrifice?

yea, baseball sucks. i only watch the big rivalry games, good teams, and october. the rest of the league/season is a wash.

nothing like FOX taking over baseball in october. Joe Buck makes every at bat seem epic with his minimalistic/silent approach to an at-bat.
