Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think even if I would have graduated, I would have found a way to come back to school this semester just for student football tickets.

haha i can't stay away from football either...i already have plans to go back in a few weeks to one of our biggest games this season😀

the football team at my undergrad was/is beyond a joke. one time i passed the stadium on my way back to school after being at home and i was like, oh there it is! i had no idea...

haha same here -- I'm considering getting sirius radio to get the Ivy football game access. Definitely going up for the game around Halloween. Might try and go to NYC for the Columbia game. and then the last game of the season is a must 🙂

its just kind of weird that I don't know most of the players on the football team...that's a first. 🙁

dam, y'all are still in school. youngins. 2nd year out coming up.

Virginia Tech...go hokies!!!😀 Going to see them vs Nebraska on Sept 19th!
Cool, a hokie - I've always liked VT, yall should have a really good season this year.
I also always have gratitude to VT for when we stomped them in 07 because that was basically the reason why we got in the championship game.

haha that is the COMPLETE opposite of my school, i love the crazy football atmosphere🙂

👍:meanie:

although I really liked y'alls track facilities when you hosted a meet I went to Freshman year. then I heard you razed your field facilities to make room for a turf soccer field 🙁

i hope so!! we always seems to fall just one win short of being in serious contention for the national championship game. lol i was hoping you wouldn't remind me of that awful day!! at least we're ranked higher than you at the moment😛

I have a feeling we'll end up somewhere around the same record, just because LSU's schedule is so tough this year. I'm predicting 10-2 with either a Cotton or Sugar Bowl appearance.
I think VT is going to the Orange Bowl again.

we had track facilities? and now we have a soccer field? news to me. (i have no idea where these things would be anyway... strange.)

seems like a safe bet, we might as well make it 3 orange bowl appearances in a row! hmm maybe ill try to go to whatever bowl game we're in this year🙂

If it's Miami for the new year, not bad!
I'm going hardcore football this year, since it's my last year w/ student tix. Trip to Seattle next week for season opener, also driving to Miss St and if we go to Atlanta and whatever bowl game we go to. :xf:
That's another reason why interviews are more complicated for me - because they're during football season!

the SDN poll is funny...

"Have you seen friends or colleagues do any of these while impaired?"

Driving
Go to work
Go to class

So I checked all three, and then it said I could only pick one.

i've seen friends do all 3, in one session. awful poll.

i know!! At least interviews aren't on weekends so we don't have to miss watching games!🙂 haha i'm such a tomboy, Saturdays and Sundays during football season are the best!!

my school didnt even have a football team. beat that! our ultimate team was pretty great, though 🙂

in other news, I realized today that the only schools who say they still haven't received my LORs are all the schools I applied to in IL. So does that mean IL is blocking my LORs? IL doesn't want me to stay? 😕

That's why I didn't want to graduate a semester early, I wouldn't know what to do with my time to actually feel productive. I probably couldn't find a good job.

Good jobs are pretty much impossible to find without further schooling!! I probably applied to ~50 research assistant jobs and didn't hear back about any of them! I'm actually going to be a nanny for the year though which I'm really excited about, 3 cute kids and amazing hours-M-F 11:30-5:30🙂

Ok, now the system is just messing with me. Although I just checked the status at NW literally ten minutes ago, I went back to the status page to get their phone number again, and now they have my letter. Coincidence? I think not. (ok, maybe)

I'm a longtime lurker but I finally got exciting enough news that I feel like telling everyone.

First interview invite at Dartmouth!!!

I'm definitely going in earlier for work on Mondays, now. Waiting for 12:30 class is ridiculous - never had to do that before. Latest starting class I've ever had was 10:30.

if anyone is looking for some humor, Howard Univ. College of Medicine just sent out an e-mail basically saying not to send junk to them. It reads:

HOWARD U COLLEGE OF MEDICINE said:
Greetings from Howard U College of Medicine,

Although I have noted it on several emails, PLEASE DO NOT SEND US MATERIALS THAT WE HAVE NOT REQUESTED. (We have had an entire bin of mail to open this morning and most is not material we asked for.)

....

In addition, please don't send:
Support letters from your pastor, kindergarten teacher, or BFF
Journal/Research articles on which you are barely mentioned
Powerpoints that you presented in class in your freshman biology lab.
Photos of you or your friends standing around in a hospital.
CDs of your American Idol audition

If we don't ask from them, we don't need them. If we need them, we will ask for them. Remember - the time we spend on things we did not request is time taken away from reviewing applications.

Now I feel better (sigh).

freakin' awesome.

Ugh, just got my syllabus for Spanish and it's going to be a lot of work and totally pointless. I haven't taken Spanish in 5 years. 😡
Plus, looks like first test is on the same day as Baylor - going to have to start sorting out this crap early, I guess.
BTW, that Howard email is golden.

So weird you guys starting school already, I still got 30 days, what to do what to do 🙂

one of the many, many reasons i'm glad i took 2 years. and that i lucked out and got the fellowship i applied for as a senior-- job search was facilitated by that.

yeah, dumb poll. and you can tell i grew up with hippies because my first thought was "impaired by which...?" :meanie:
