Briton Suzanne Allen, who is 25 years old today, came to terms with the fact that she will never become a mother, as her ovaries had not been functioning properly since her teens.
Suzanne was diagnosed with early menopause at the age of 16, and a few years later, the diagnosis was confirmed after a detailed medical examination, as doctors elaborated that she would never give birth, Telegraph reports.
When her belly grew, pregnancy did not even cross her mind. She simply thought she gained weight.
During a medical examination, the nurse told Suzanne she probably had a cyst. This is when the doctor discovered heart beats in her womb.
- I'd long resigned myself to never being a mother, and I could hardly believe what was happening. The doctor said the odds of me falling pregnant a decade after going through the menopause were greater than a million to one - Suzanne said. She gave birth to a boy named Alfie in January last year.
