Ha, well, an interview on the way is better than not one at all, right? Though I don't know why they wouldn't wait to just tell you when they have you all scheduled and everything...

Well that's f-ing stupid. It's not horrible during the day, either - but at night it kills me.

It did get me 3 hours of paid work for nothing, though!

Yeah it was the same way for me. Minus getting paid for nothing.

Apparently, it's possible to cough yourself into temporary asthma; he prescribed me Advair, though I've never had asthma in my life.

Yeah, last Spring (2009), this spring (2010) it looks like our Spring Break and Easter Break are combined.

Spring 2009 we were off Friday - Monday and classes started Tuesday. Spring 2010, since it's merged with spring break we have off Sun before easter - Monday after easter.

During that semester, our last day of class was April 28 and we had exams from May 1 - 9. I'm not sure when the normal times for schools to end are, but I never felt like I was in school for longer than others?

I don't see how you people get these in-depth responses from Wake. I called and specifically asked about the interview pool and got the same answer again. I give up.
 
So I'm trying to give up my addiction to caffeine... And it's not going so well.
 
I'd die without caffeine.

And thanks for all the congrats 🙂 Though like I said, still not getting excited until I get the official e-mail. I keep waiting for her to e-mail back and be like "oops, sorry! We thought you were someone else. Try again"
 
I go through phases where I have it all the time (lately I've been trying to have it in healthier forms - ie, tea, not soda). Then it will stop affecting me, so I'll go awhile without it, so the first time I have it again, I bounce off the walls for awhile...

Caffeine and I have a love hate relationship
 
My problem is that I love coffee, am addicted to caffeine, but am broke. As an attempt to save money, I'm trying to cut back on my caffeine expenditures.
 
I worked at a coffee shop for about 6 months in high school. I hated coffee before then, but now I drink it far too often. It was all free, so it was hard to resist.
 
i don't really drink caffeine... i haven't had soda in, well, basically forever. i think i've had it only a few times in my life. i don't even know. i really only drink water and the occasional smoothie or cup of tea (usually herbal, so no caffeine). i hope i can get through med school and residency without coffee, but i doubt it...

I was wondering about that. I'm not really into caffeine. I hate coffee, love tea but hardly drink it, and I cut back on soda, so I may have a sip or two of my boyfriend's coke every so often.

I'm gonna see if I can last through med school. 😀

I hate, hate, hate coffee. Can't stand the taste, don't want to get used to it. This fall, Coke Zero has been my poison of choice; it might destroy my teeth, but at least I won't get fat.

Both of my co-ops that have been research jobs also have those K-cup machines with like 15 choices of coffee, so I cave sometimes 🙂

same here. i only like water and my friends keep telling me ill have to find a caffinated beverage i can stand in order to make it through med school haha.

Eh, well, I've tried that. But my coffeemaker doesn't work so well, and homemade coffee just tastes awful in comparison.

I actually love the smell; I always felt horribly gipped that it doesn't taste nearly as good as it smells.

i like the smell too, but hate the taste. same with wine. i dont think my taste buds are in sync with my sense of smell.

No way! I love the smell, the taste, everything. In fact, I drink my coffee black. Always.
 
Anybody else noticing how dead SDN is today? The threads, etc?

Must be a function of the lack of information flow from med schools?

I need to find a hobby, and fast...something to distract me from refreshing SDN a thousand times a day...

Haha no one calls soda drinks "pop" around here... They don't even call them "soda." Everything is Coke. (Ex. What type of Coke do you like? Sprite.)

Regardless of what brand it actually is, or what variety of soda.

YES! I'm glad I'm not the only one who used to do this! I either called it Coke, soda or a soft drink. 🙄
