I've actually never spent a Mardi Gras in NO. 😱 But I'm supposed to be going down there this year. I'm a disgrace to Louisianans, born and raised an hour from NO and never been there for the biggest holiday in LA.

thanks for all your comments!! is detail good or bad? I feel like if someone really wanted they could find out everything about me on here! I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing lol.
In reagards to some of the comments.
1. I studied very hard the first time, but my nerves got the best of me..
and i even was scoring around a 30 on the practices so i know for sure my nerves got the best of me. last time around i took kaplan..i went to all the classes..did all of the kaplan full lenghts..did all the aamc full lengths..did all the kaplan section tests..listened to audio osmosis took notes..and made notecards studied them..and did everything i could possibly think of..but there were two things lacking..1. confidence..i actually have been studying since 2nd yr..and i had really built up the test like crazy and so i just wasnt ready for it mentally..i was so afraid and terrified..2..I was practicing a lot but i wasnt paying close attention to my mistakes..I really was just going through the motions without really understanding what i didnt understand...
so this time aroudn this is waht I am doing idfferentley..
firstly, i quit my job to study for this and i have been studying since the end of jan. full time..
i am using ek for conent.
and here is what i am going to do..
for each ch in ek for each subhect i am
1. reading the ch and listenting to audio osmosis.
2. listneing to audio osmosis and taking notes, reading ch again and noting down important stuff.
3. doing 1001 ek qeustions for that section..
4. correction the 1001 ek questions..
5. plan to do tke kaplan quizzes for respective sections along with the in book tests in the ek books
6. I hope to finish content reivew by end of feb or early march..
7. this time im really trying to focus on big picture..i have a notebook of diagrams..where i have drawn out different systems like for glycolysis..tca..dna/rna synthesis and so forth..im really focusing on undersntading this time around..and getting the big picture..
8. also, i have a matrix of mistakes that i have kept where i am notnig down exactly wut im getting wrong, why im getting it wrong..and any important concepts have been noted.
9. this time i am also very confident. i have a solid plan. i have no problem studying hard..and i feel this is my year to do great.
10. honestly, i just dont beleive in giving up so even if it doesnt go well, i will just try again and again =) even if i have to write a letter to each med school explaining to them why!!
phew sorry for the long explanation but mcats means a lot of me..=)

and in terms of the md apps..is detail good or bad? im not sure..i tend to be very verbose naturally as u can see..

i didnt go the smdep reunion..didnt even realized they had one!! =)

i completely forgot to mention march and april..im going to be working on strategy mainly and on my weaknesses..my study schedule has a weaknesses tab where i write donw everything i am having idfficutly with..i hope to set aside a little time every day to go over a few of my weaknesses..in my free time i also try to youtube some concepts as the diagrams and videos really help solidify some bio information..

Wow! That is quite a plan! If you stick to it, you're sure to do awesome on the MEOW!!!

As far as mdapp goes, I think it's a matter of personal preference. As you can see, I'm very candid about my identity. My avatar is my picture, and anyone can easily figure out who I am by searching one of quite a few of my activities online. But some people don't like to share as much, and that's cool, too. I can't see the detail hurting you in anyway though.

I think enthusiasm is the most highly underrated part of this whole damn process! Let the legend of The Phoenix and The Mayo be a lesson to all.

If I ever get annoyingly happy and positive, just be like "dude, ksmi, chill out with the perkiness..." trust me, in real life, I'm far from being an optimist, so I can take it. 🙂 Actually, I think the whole pre-med thing is one of the few things I'm generally happy and optimistic about at all times. The whole idea of going to med school excites me, and I can't wait to get this show on the road. 😀

I personally loved orgo and gen chem..but physics killed me! =) bio i have always had a soft spot for but I havent really done the general stuff since high school cuz I got AP credit for it!! I graduated may 2008 and working was alright..as soon as i started i realized how badly i really wanted to go to med school so i quit to study for mcats full time lol. =) i still may go back to the job once the exams are over though. we will see =)

no doubt the lifestyle is better. in college , however, the people were better. I just miss friends and stuff. We just had a holiday weekend at Dartmouth, so all the alums came back. was an amazing weekend.

if I could do it all over again, i would do a lot different in terms of social life., and a little bit different in terms of academic life.
